Gen. Dempsey "is not symbolic of a military leader"

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, said publicly that defending Iraq's city of Ramadi is of secondary importance compared with protecting the Beiji oil refinery from ISIS.

Jon Harper in Stars and Stripes admitted that the terror group may be on the verge of overrunning Ramadi, but said, "The city itself is not symbolic in any way," adding that the fall of the city would be more of a humanitarian problem than a strategic one.

"It's not been declared part of [Islamic State's] 'caliphate' on one hand or central to the future of Iraq. I would much rather that Ramadi not fall, but it won't be the end of a campaign" if it does, the Obama butt-kisser said.

Dempsey went on to discuss the need for Iraqi forces to control Beiji, but never acknowledged the American blood shed in taking it the first time and how it is very symbolic to the families of those who died doing so.

In an open letter to Dempsey, displayed on Fox News, Debbie Lee, the mother of the first Navy SEAL to die in Ramadi was  posted. His name was Marc Lee.

She asked the General if he would be willing to meet with the families of those who died there. She pointed out that many military analysts believe that "as goes Ramadi so goes Iraq."

She poignantly said that she had traveled to Iraq in 2010 and spoke with Iraq General Anwer and asked him "If you could say one thing to the American people what would you tell them?"

He replied: "We will tell our children, our grandchildren for generations, to come we will tell them what Americans have done. There is American blood poured out on our soil."

Debbie Lee added that it seems like General Anwer knew more about Ramadi's significance than he did.

She closed the letter to Dempsey: "You and this administration have minimized that Ramadi could fall, now you are minimizing that it is falling, but you Sir WILL NOT minimize the sacrifice my son Marc Lee made or any of our brave warriors!

Awaiting an Apology

Debbie Lee

So far, the apology has not come.

The U.S. engaged in two battles for Ramadi: 2005 and 2006. In the second fighting, 75 U.S. Soldiers and Marines were killed and 200 wounded.

Not symbolic in any way, General Dempsey?

It seems obvious that even our military has become politicized and the "few good men" are long gone. Hopefully, the military is still looking to find them.

Dempsey, Rice and ISIS Over Easy

Gen. Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff, said the ISIS terrorists recently came within 15 miles of Baghdad airport and overran Iraqi forces to accomplish that feat.

Dempsey told ABC's "This Week" that Apache helicopters were used for the first time to stop the onslaught of those Islamic orthodox terrorists' "straight shot to the airport." But claimed "We were not going to allow that to happen. We need that airport."

The question now is, will airstrikes alone be enough to stop the attacking Muslim jihadists?

Of course not.

Even Obama's Dempsey said that there may come a time when he might recommend that American advisers go along with Iraqi military troops against ISIS scum. But even if he recommends it, what are the odds that Obama will go along with his recommendation? Probably zero to none.

Gen. Dempsey doesn't believe Baghdad is in danger of falling to ISIS but admitted that some ISIS pond scum has infiltrated the surrounding Sunni population and this gives them the ability to fire into the city.

Some may even blow themselves up to make their point.

But there is still hope--Susan Rice assured us that President Obama will definitely not send ground troops, which means that President Obama may send ground troops after all.

Troops in Boots on the Ground

General Martin Dempsey said that if president Obama's plan to destroy ISIS doesn't work, (and he said that he believes it will, but I'm not so sure his fingers weren't crossed) he would go back to Barack and make his case to actually have troops with boots on the ground.

The military is saying one thing and Obama is saying another--that we will not, under any circumstances, have boots on the ground. This is his way of showing the enemy that he is not someone to be trifled with--he is someone to be totally laughed at. And that is what ISIS is probably doing.

In order to win, however, there is no doubt that we must use ground troops. If we use the Syrian rebels, they will not get the job done and will likely be as effective on destroying ISIS as aspirins are on curing cancer.

But Ebola is a different story.
Tag, you're infected

Obama will deploy boots on the ground to Liberia where the spread of Ebola is getting progressively more serious. He plans to send 3000 troops to do the job, which is a good thing.

So far, Ebola can only be spread by actual touch of the victim. This may give ISIS the idea to use a new strategy, perhaps one they will call "Suicide Tag."
