2 Canadian theater owners get death threats ahead of screening 'Unplanned'

It's crazy--two independent theater owners in Canada have received death threats because they plan to screen the movie "Unplanned," an anti-death-to-unborn babies movie based on a true story.

The so-called pro choice crowd not only would allow babies to be killed, even up to the moment of birth, but some of them are threatening people who would show a movie exploring the other side of the same issue, reports LifeSiteNews.

"Police are investigating death threats sent to two Canadian independent theatre owners because they are screening the pro-life movie Unplanned on July 12," the outlet reported. "As a safety measure, the movie’s producers have now removed from their website the comprehensive July 12 listing of 46 Canadian theatres — independents, Cineplex and Landmark locations — that will be showing Unplanned."

So, instead of the "shout-down veto," we have the "life-threat veto."

"Unplanned" is a movie about a Planned Parenthood supervisor, Abby Johnson, who found herself actually witnessing what an abortion really entails while working at the PP clinic in Bryan, Texas in 2009. The movie was released in March and has become one of the greatest successes in independent films of 2019. It had a $6 million budget and brought in $18 million at the box office.

"Unplanned" producer Chuck Konzelman told LifeSiteNews that they removed theater listings from the movie's website as requested by B.J. McKelvie, president of Fredericton-based Cinedicon, the Canadian distributor of the film.

"McKelvie confirmed to LifeSiteNews that two Canadian independent cinema owners contacted police after receiving death threats they perceived as credible, and that they are 'fearful for their families,'" the report continued. "Another Canadian independent theatre owner 'has been harrassed to the extreme.' One of the two owners who contacted the police has cancelled the Unplanned screening, but all the rest 'are holding their ground,' McKelvie said."

McKelvie noted that the death threats were largely targeted at independent theater chains because "they didn’t get anywhere with Cineplex, or they didn’t get anywhere with Landmark" – the two largest theater chains in the country.

This has become the norm with those on the left--they refuse to tolerate anyone with a differing opinion.

"It’s unfortunate it’s come to that," McKelvie told the outlet. "It’s just a movie. The topic is certainly a hot topic. However, it is just a movie. I find it ironic, they talk about choice, pro-choice, pro-choice, pro-choice, but they’re not giving people a choice to go see the movie."

Since when has anything the left said or done not the opposite of what they say? Men are women who are men Antifa [anti-fascists] are fascists. You know the drill.

The death threats came soon after "Unplanned" producers began the negotiations with Canadian distribution companies after they blackballed the film [ah-hmm, allegedly] from screening in some of the top theater chains. After severe backlash from the Canadian pro-life community, the distributors changed their minds. Co-director Cary Solomon said in a news conference in late May that the movie would be screened in up to 10 to 20 Canadian cities and thanked the Canadian pro-life community for helping to bring the companies to the table.

"This all emanated out of the pro-lifers who came out of Canada, so I think you should be really proud of yourselves," Solomon said at the news conference. "All of this heroic stuff that you’re doing in Canada is being seen by the rest of the world. I think in the final analysis it may be Canada that will get the credit for ending this abortion nightmare."

After the Canadian pro-life community vowed to boycott theaters, a screening of the film in Edmonton packed in 3,000 people, which undoubtedly pushed the top distribution companies to negotiate. Over 5,000 people signed onto the boycott's online campaign.

The left needs to be stopped from thwarting the civil rights of those who hold all life precious.

I wonder how many of those members of PETA are pro-abortion--it would not surprise me if most of them are, putting the feelings of chickens over the lives of the unborn.

'Unplanned' movie causes Twitter explosion

Twitter went ballistic on Sunday after scores of folks were upset because they weren't able to follow the pro-life movie "Unplanned," which was shown in movies over the weekend.

The ongoing "mysterious" problems with the movie's Twitter account come after it was somehow banned on Saturday and was only reinstated later in that day after enough people complained. Twitter did not provide details on why the account was suspended and nobody can imagine why Jack Dorsey, a strong proponent of free speech, would allow such a thing to happen . . . just kidding.

On Sunday, thousands of people noted that every time they tried to follow the movie's account that their Twitter accounts automatically unfollowed the account moments later.

Is it possible that Twitter advocates infanticide and is afraid to allow people to see the pro-life side of the issue and the rights of those who cannot advocate for themselves?

Actress Patricia Heaton tweeted:
"Hey @jack - why aren’t you letting me follow @UnplannedMovie ? I’ve tried eight times to support my friend @AbbyJohnson and @Twitter won’t let me. Others are having the same issue. Please correct this. Thank you."
NewsBusters VP Dan Gainor tweeted:
"What @Twitter is doing now is deliberately aimed at hurting @UnplannedMovie. I hope lawyers go after them. Eh @pnjaban? I'd love to see @jack cope with a few million documents worth of discovery."
Attorney and Fox News contributer Harmeet K. Dhillon tweeted:
"Twitter is censoring @unplannedmovie and also interfering with the rights on this platform of over 100,000 other Twitter account holders to learn about the film. Who will hold Twitter accountable?"
Guy Benson tweeted:
"Add me to the list. I’ve now defaulted back to not following @UnplannedMovie several times, despite my efforts to follow the account. @TwitterSupport"
Jason Howerton noted that "Unplanned" was not trending despite tens of thousands of recent tweets.

When will Twitter be considered a publisher and allow all sides a voice to speak?

I hope you'll follow Brain Flushings and have a few laughs while you get a conservative viewpoint. Politics is the new NFL without the mindless kneeling and this blog will both inform you and hopefully entertain you bigly.
