Tom Homan sends AOC to DOJ PDQ for investigation

The New York Congress-Latina Rep. Alexandria Occasionally-Comatose (Socialist) has been accused by President Trump's Border Czar, Tom Homan, of impeding U.S. immigration law enforcement efforts as she was bagged in the process of advising illegal aliens [aka undocumented Democrats] on how to avoid being legally deported.

Homan told Fox News, "Impediment is impediment in my opinion," when asked if AOC's actions were "crossing the line" and noted that he was "working with the Department of Justice to find out."

In the bizarre theatre of politics, we find the woman who all men wish to date, and who, according to 8 US Code 1324 1/A/iv, might be treading on rather thin legal ice. The code stipulates: "Any person who— encourages or induces an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law; or engages in any conspiracy to commit any of the preceding acts, or aids or abets the commission of any of the preceding acts, shall be punished."

On a brisk February day, AOC decided to host the "Know Your Rights With ICE" webinar live on her Facebook page. This wasn't just any old town hall; it was a direct line to illegal immigrants in her New York district, schooling them on how to deal with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Here's what she told them: “When one of these things [raids] comes to your backyard, you can resist, and when that happens over millions of people, is that you generate enough friction that they cannot go as fast as they want to go,” suggesting a strategy to slow down ICE raids.

She later proclaimed on her X account, "Believe it or not, in America, EVERYONE has rights."

But not everyone was amused. Tom Homan, once the border czar, wasn't laughing. He questioned whether AOC's behavior constituted an obstruction of immigration enforcement. He reached out to the Department of Justice, asking, “I sent a letter today to the deputy attorney general. At what level is that impediment? Is that impediment? I’m not an attorney. I’m not a prosecutor. Is that impeding our law enforcement efforts? If so, what are we going to do about it?"

Homan, with more than a hint of schadenfreude, suggested, "Maybe AOC is going to be in trouble now."

To which Sandy Cortez, as she used to be known, retorted on X, "'MaYbe shE's goiNg to be in TroUble nOw.' Maybe he can learn to read. The Constitution would be a good place to start."

The Trump administration, with its laser focus on immigration enforcement, treats the deportation of illegals as not just policy but passion. The White House has been quite clear: prosecute anyone who tries to halt these operations, including those in law enforcement and elected officials.

Homan floated another punitive idea - pulling federal funds from New York City to force compliance with immigration laws, aiming to dismantle its sanctuary city status.

In the midst of this, Mayor Eric Adams, who had recently dodged his own legal bullets with the DOJ, told his city's officials to stand down, not to obstruct ICE agents during their deportation raids.

The Department of Justice, however, has remained silent on whether they would investigate AOC's actions. If they did proceed, the burden would be on prosecutors to prove that her webinar went beyond mere information dissemination into actively obstructing ICE operations.

This spectacle is not just about legal lines but also about the cultural battleground where law, rights, and the very concept of sovereignty are contested daily.
