COVID-19 crisis: who do Americans trust and mistrust

Photo: Daily Wire
A recent Gallup poll for gauging the American public's opinion on the handling of the coronavirus pandemic by various figures and entities found that one particular group has done extremely suckworthy: the news media. In fact, of all the groups on the list that were asked about, the media was the only one that received negative marks regarding their approval.

As Gallup explains, “Americans are generally positive in their evaluations of how each of nine leaders and institutions has handled the response to the coronavirus situation. Eight of the nine receive majority positive ratings — led by U.S. hospitals, at 88% approval. Only the news media gets a more negative than positive review.”
Her confused look says it all
And now both CNN and MSNBC are considering not airing the daily updates by the President and the Coronavirus Task Force, evidently due to the fact that the broadcasts are making President Trump look competent and presidential.

The news media was rated far worse than the CDC, Vice President Mike Pence, President Donald Trump, and even Congress, all of which had strong majority approval.

The public was asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way each of the following is handling the response to the coronavirus in the U.S.?”

The responses by the public clearly rated the news media the worst, by far, than all other entities in the poll"
U.S. hospitals: 88% approve, 10% disapprove
Your child’s school or daycare: 83 – 9
Your state government: 82 -17
Your employer: 82 – 14
Government health agencies such as the CDC and NIH: 80 -17
Vice President Mike Pence: 61-32
President Donald Trump: 60 – 38
Congress: 59 – 37
The news media: 44 – 55
The Gallup data was collected from March 13 to 22, “with the field period starting on the same day President Donald Trump declared a national emergency over the coronavirus outbreak, and spanning sharp increases in the number of documented cases in the U.S., as well as the number of deaths.”

Trump's overall approval rating climbed from 44% to 49% while he received a 60% approval for the way he's handling the coronavirus situation and keeping the public informed and calm. The left-leaning media has been critical of him no matter what he says or does about the situation and it seems as if people are beginning to see the hypocrisy of their assessments.

Much of the disapproval of the media comes from Republicans whereby only 25% approve of how the media is covering the crisis; while 61% of Democrats approve. What was not explored in the poll was which media outlets were used by each group.

According to the Gallup survey, President Trump is winning this particular round of his years-long battle with the news media, which he hammered once again this week. In a tweet Wednesday, Trump accused the media of attempting to “keep our Country closed as long as possible” for political purposes. And while he says this in his inelegant manner, which may turn some people off, he is clearly correct in his assessment.

“The LameStream Media is the dominant force in trying to get me to keep our Country closed as long as possible in the hope that it will be detrimental to my election success,” he tweeted Wednesday. “The real people want to get back to work ASAP. We will be stronger than ever before!”

Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House Coronavirus Response coordinator, called out exaggerated reporting on the coronavirus pandemic the same day Trump went after the media.

“I think the numbers that have been put out there are actually very frightening to people,” Dr. Birx said during a press conference on Wednesday. “But I can tell you if you go back and look at Wuhan and Hubei and all of these provinces, when they talk about 60,000 people being infected, even if you said, alright, well there’s asymptomatics and all of that, so you get to 600,000 people out of 80 million. That is nowhere close to the numbers that you see people putting out there. I think it has frightened the American people."

4% of voters feel Hillary sucks less than Donald

With just one day to go before America elects its next incompetent president, it's looking good for un-indicted felon, Hillary Clinton.

In a Fox News national pre-election poll of likely voters, Clinton leads Trump by four percentage points indicating that the American voter believes that she doesn't suck as much as her opponent, and the voters are hedging their bets that she will not be indicted once becoming the president elect.

Hillary is ahead by 48 to 44 percent while Gary Johnson has 3 percent and Jill Stein 2 percent of the voters trust that neither candidate will screw things up any further than the last administration has done.

Clinton's advantage is statistically within the margin of error, but when either candidate wins tomorrow the results itself will be an error, and one that can only be corrected in four years when Michelle Obama runs on the Democratic ticket after Hillary screws up everything if she wins the presidency.

Hillary is now winning the uterus vote by 12 points (50 to 40 percent) blacks (who still believe the Democrats are helping them in spite of facts) by 85 to 4 percent; Hispanics (63 to 30 percent) and under 30 voters (51 to 35 percent, and higher by those seen on "Watters World" playing beach volleyball who thought Lincoln was a Democrat).

Trump is favored among men 48 to 43 percent (and those in the 43 percent range believe Caitlyn Jenner is a hero for having a body part removed then inverted, and changed his name from Bruce) and whites without a college degree 61 to 30 percent (and including college men who never had the need to go to a "safe zone" or believe they should be ashamed of their race, or support the anti-Israel BDS movement).

Trump is also ahead of the seditious Democratic candidate 56 to 38 percent, indicating that 38 percent of veterans watch MSNBC, read The Times, and believe that any woman who defends her sexual predator husband against the claims made by his victims, is okay in their book.

Nine percent of Republicans support Clinton, indicating that the United States still has a serious mental health problem and it will not be solved with the continuance of Obamacare. It is also an indication that nine percent of Republican voters have made their voting decision based on a coin-flip.

Trump beat Clinton by 4 points as being seen as honest and trustworthy (which may be due to the inability of political fact investigators to find one instance in which Clinton has told the hard, cold truth about anything). But she is seen to have a better temperament to be president by a margin of 23 percent, and as being better qualified for the job by 18 percent (but that might be either an anomaly or a joke).

The Fox News Poll is based on landline and cell phone interviews with 1,410 randomly chosen with nationwide voters and conducted in conjunction under joint direction with Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from Nov. 3 to 6, 2016. It used results from 1,295 likely voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.5 percent among both registered voters and likely voters.

In order for Donald Trump to win this election, the key is for him to get more electoral votes (or, as Joe Biden calls them 'electrical votes') than Hillary Clinton.
