The audacity of her hope

Her happy face

hope: (noun) 1. a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. "I voted for Obama in the hope that he would be a great president."2. (archaic) a feeling of trust(verb) 1. want something to happen or be the case "I'm hoping Obama doesn't make things worse for us in the world."synonyms: expect,  anticipate, look for, be hopeful of, pin one's hopes on, want; "I'm hoping Obama doesn't let the door hit him in the butt as he leaves the White House."

Hope is a weak concept when married to change. It's like a wife whose husband is cheating on her and she hopes he'll stop and mend his ways. All of her hope is not going to intervene, and intervention of some sort, is the only remedy.

Hope is like a prayer to a magic rock. What you're hoping for will either happen by luck, or by someone taking an active role in getting what you're hoping for--and hopefully (pardon the pun) it will be you taking action.

How dare Michelle Obama say to the American public, "When they go low, we'll go high," and then, on Oprah Winfrey, attack the President-elect before he even steps foot into the White House to start his work as President.

"Now we're feeling what not having hope feels like," Obama said.

And Oprah, being a good liberal soldier, does not challenge her on the fact that Michelle Obama just went low when Trump went high after meeting with her husband.

Perhaps the liberal elite believe their party is comprised of stupid people, but that isn't true--liberals will eventually 'catch on' if they can break through the mainstream media's messaging and omissions.

Michelle Obama speaks about hope as if it was some kind of holy entity.

Hope is a feeling, not an accomplishment. If hope doesn't lead to action, it serves no purpose.

When Barack Obama won the White House he did it on the hope of a nation that there would be positive change: a better economy, jobs, peace, national security.

We got change but we were short-changed on what we hoped for--the change we got was to become a weaker country that others no longer could trust.

We got the Islamic State. Obama calls them "ISIL" because he doesn't want to remind us of the 'red line' in Syria he drew that was laughed at--calling them ISIS is too hard for him to admit.

Of course, hope is not a bad thing, but it should be an image in our minds of goals that need to be sought after.

I hope Donald Trump will be a good president and live up to his promises, at least as many of them as is reasonable.

I hope Obama will go away after his term and leave the nation alone, but I don't hold much hope of that.

Words Words Words

Hail to the King
Words are symbols that wreak of power and influence. The American public elected Barack Hussein Obama based on his words; they had nothing else to judge him with because his senatorial record only revealed over a hundred "present" votes, but nothing to which he was actually committed. What this implies is that Obama does not commit to anything with action, but instead, uses words to give you hope that he will.

Next Thursday, Mr. Obama will be making a speech designed to turn around the economy with a plan to create jobs for the over 14 million Americans who are out of work. He will probably discuss spending cuts, but his real emphasis, I believe, will be on stimulus spending--more words that mean he wants us to throw more money after bad, as he did with Solyndra Inc.,  a company that produced solar panels.

Moe, Larry, and Curly
The Obama administration gave $535 million to Solyndra, a favorite 'green company' of his, and when it appeared to be having problems, private investors put in an additional $75 million with the government agreeing that if the company became insolvent, the private funds would be given priority over $385 million of the government's investment. Well, the company declared bankruptcy, abruptly laid off 1100 workers without notice, and we, the taxpayers are out a lot of money . . . again. Now the workers have filed a class action suit against the company based on their failure to provide them with 60 days notice of termination--a requirement of companies having at least 50 employees--but there are loopholes in this situation that may mean the workers are going to get, shall we say, screwed.

What is Obama going to say next Thursday? Words. Empty words. He will tell us how it isn't his fault by blaming others, including, I suspect, God; at least acts of God, like the hurricanes, tsunami, and earthquake.  But let's not forget that Obama has even blamed ATM machines for the country's economic woes.He will tell us how congress is failing America and refusing to cooperate in a bipartisan manner. He will blame the last administration and whine over the mess he inherited. Words.

Bye-I'm off on another vacation with your tax money
In spite of this, there will be plenty of people who will vote for him next year. They will not care about his record of reckless spending, a spending that led to no results. They will not care about how he is systematically socializing the country with government regulations, entitlement programs, company takeovers, and bailouts. They will only care about his words, his promise of change, his call for hope, and they will pull that lever and vote for him because they refuse to vote for a Republican, or they will have the baseless hope he requires of those who believe in him. That, by the way, is the problem. One 'believes in' God, for example, or doesn't. One should not have to 'believe in' a president. When one 'believes' in something, that belief is based on a prognostication of the future rather than results from the past, and that is always risky. Obama has no past to believe in except a past containing parents who were Communists, friends who were anarchists, a spiritual leader who is a racist, and a wife who did not feel proud to be an American.

If Obama's words give you comfort, you might be a liberal and only words, not deeds, count.
