As the containment of the deadly Los Angeles wildfires improves, the pressure on the city's fire chief, Kristin Crowley, a lesbian, intensifies. LA Mayor Karen Bass, who had promised not to leave the United States if elected Mayor, returned from Ghana and has now announced plans for an external investigation into how the fire department managed these devastating fires.

The Eaton Fire is now 73% contained, and the Palisades Fire is 43% suppressed, according to Cal Fire. These fires, which started earlier this month, claimed at least 27 lives and destroyed thousands of structures.

Lesbian Fire Chief Crowley is facing significant criticism, with a five-page letter from current and retired members of the LAFD demanding her resignation. The letter, obtained by NewsNation, accuses Crowley of mismanagement during the wildfires:

“If you had done things right and prepared the LAFD for an incident of this magnitude, fatalities would have been reduced, and property would have been saved,” the letter stated, adding that her resignation “would be best for the citizens of Los Angeles.”

The letter also criticizes Crowley for allowing over 125 senior commanders to retire, which has left a leadership gap in the department. "While no one is saying that this fire could have been stopped, there is no doubt among all of us that if you had done things right and prepared the LAFD for an incident of this magnitude, fatalities would have been reduced, and property would have been saved. 

This criticism comes amidst reported tensions between Crowley and the dull Mayor Bass, highlighting the controversy over the leadership during what have been some of California's most costly wildfires.

Crowley has publicly stated that her department was underfunded and understaffed, describing the situation as "no longer sustainable."

Bass has responded by announcing an external investigation into the city's response to the wildfires. “We need to look back at everything that happened,” she told reporters on Friday. “But to me, over the last week, the most important thing was to get past the fires to make sure that on Monday and Tuesday, we’re not facing a danger again.”

Bass also appointed Steve Soboroff, a former president of the Los Angeles Police Commission, as the "chief recovery officer" to lead rebuilding efforts.

“Our absolute priority is to return Angelenos to their homes and rebuild. Steve knows our communities, he knows how to activate City Hall, he knows how to engage the public, business, non-profit and philanthropic resources needed for this massive effort,” Bass said. “There is no one better equipped to create our rebuilding plan. We will work closely together to move a strategy forward to rebuild neighborhoods that are stronger, more resilient and more united than ever before.”

The wildfires have not only caused widespread destruction but have also delayed legal proceedings, like the resentencing hearing for Lyle and Erik Menendez, now postponed to March from its original January 31 date. The brothers were convicted of murdering their parents in 1989.

Bombshell Memo Spells Disaster for Karen Bass Amid California Wildfires

We have witnessed the absolute ineptness and crazy priorities of woke leaders throughout Los Angeles County as wildfires rage, destroying billions of dollars of property belonging to the people who mostly voted for the fools they put in power. The failures of the Left have become so obvious that even the die-hard leftists are eating their own, especially after being personally affected.

The spotlight has been focused on Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass lately, with good reason. First off, for some reason, she was in Ghana when the wildfires started, which is kind of a big deal because she had promised not to travel internationally while in office and attack Florida Governor Ron DeSantis The way it looked was bad, but the real issue goes back at least two months.

In November, LAFD LGBTQ+1 Chief Kristin Crowley sent a memo warning of severe staffing shortages and training gaps. The department was dangerously undermanned, yet the mayor’s office reportedly ignored or even buried the warning, or perhaps she just didn't bother to read the memo.

“Los Angeles fire chief Kristin Crowley warned city officials in November that her department had about half as many firefighters as it needed,” reports the Washington Free Beacon. “When deadly wildfires struck the city two months later, Mayor Karen Bass's administration pulled Crowley's memo from its website.”

The report reveals that on November 18, Crowley wrote to the city’s fire commissioners — a five-member board appointed by Bass — urging them to relay her concerns to Bass and the city council. She highlighted that the fire department’s staffing levels had remained stagnant for decades, even as the city’s population grew significantly.

"In many ways, the current staffing, deployment model, and size of the LAFD have not changed since the 1960s," Crowley, a lesbian wrote, noting that a surge in emergency calls combined with a shortage of fire stations had resulted in longer response times.

Crowley’s memo also pointed out that in 2022, 61% of the department’s firefighters failed to meet the national standard of a four-minute first response time. The National Fire Protection Association recommends a ratio of 1.51 to 1.81 firefighters per 1,000 residents for cities like Los Angeles, but according to Crowley, the city only maintains 0.91 firefighters per 1,000 people.

Two months later, historic wildfires erupted across the Los Angeles area. Since last week, 37,000 acres and more than 12,000 structures have burned, 16 people have died, and more than 150,000 are under evacuation orders.

As the catastrophe unfolded, Crowley's memo disappeared from a city website. The New York Times referenced the memo in a Thursday piece but did not link to it. The memo was available online at this link as recently as Friday. By Saturday night, however, the memo was replaced with a message stating, "404! We are sorry, but the page you requested was not found." A Google search preview includes Crowley's quote on the inadequate "size of the LAFD."

In April, Crowley requested a significant budget increase to recruit firefighters and boost wildfire suppression efforts amid expected retirements. Instead, Mayor Bass approved a budget that cut the department’s funding by $17 million compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, Crowley herself has faced criticism for prioritizing woke DEI initiatives over hiring firefighters and general preparedness.

Trump and James Woods have something to say about CA incompetence and fires

Imagine a situation where the government has to use its military to step into a situation that got out of hand due to gross incompetence at several levels, all being related to the woke agenda. Yes, boys and girls, I'm referring to California and the wildfires that are blowin' in the wind, the very high winds.

The U.S. Department of Defense is deploying ten Navy helicopters with water delivery buckets to help suppress wildfires raging across southern California and also they are sending California National Guard and Nevada National Guard.

At a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said the Navy helicopters come in addition to the California National Guard and the Nevada Nation Guard each readying an additional two "modular air fighting system units." The choppers with fly water delivery buckets to  "immediately assist with aerial suppression," Singh said, but warned that high winds were a deterrent.

Never willing to allow incompetence and a chance to point it out go by the wayside, President-elect Donald Trump weighed in on the situation. He blasted California Democrat Gov. Gavin "Brylcream" Newsom for his mismanagement that lead to the deadly Los Angeles-area fires saying that the "ultimate price is being paid" for an "incompetent governor."

"Governor Gavin Newscum [Trump's word] refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way," Trump wrote in a scathing Truth Social rebuke. "He wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called a smelt, by giving it less water (it didn't work!), but didn't care about the people of California."

Actions under the guise of environmentalism are costing Californian lives, homes, property, and wealth, according to Trump and reasonable people in all walks of life.

"Now the ultimate price is being paid," he continued. "I will demand that this incompetent governor allow beautiful, clean, fresh water to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA! He is the blame for this."

"On top of it all, no water for fire hydrants, not firefighting planes. A true disaster!"

Actor and active conservative on X, James Woods, added Karen Bass, Mayor of Los Angeles, and the LA Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley to the list as additional incompetents, saying that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) have contributed to the current disaster.

"This fire is not from 'climate change,' you ignorant a**hole," Woods wrote on X, blasting a climate change activist for propaganda and insensitivity. "It's because liberal idiots like you elect liberal idiots like Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass."

"One doesn't understand the first thing about fire management, and the other can't fill the water reservoirs."

Maybe it's time to call in the Marines as well. The California government can't run a lemonade stand.
