Three British Muslims got sentenced to eight years in jail for kidnapping and beating up an Israeli music producer in Wales. They did it because they hated Israel and had extreme Islamic beliefs.
A court in Wales found Mohammad Comrie, Faiz Shah, and Elijah Ogunnubi-Sime guilty of planning to snatch an Israeli guy named Itay Kashti.
The three tricked Kashti into coming to a lonely cottage in the Welsh countryside, saying he’d be part of a music project.
But as soon as he got there, the men “immediately assaulted” Kashti and the taxi driver who brought him, according to a Jewish Chronicle report.
Kashti was “handcuffed to a radiator,” while the driver got away and called the cops.
When the attackers left the room, Kashti broke free from the handcuffs, grabbed his phone—which they’d taken—and ran out of the cottage.
During the attack, Kashti got cuts on his head and face, plus bruises all over his body.
The Jewish Chronicle said prosecutors found Telegram messages between the guys that showed the plan, including a “shopping list” of stuff like zip ties, gloves, and drugs to knock someone out.
The judge, Catherine Richards, who sentenced Comrie, Shah, and Ogunnubi-Sime, said she had “no doubt” they picked Kashti because they thought he was a rich Jew.
They were going to make his family pay them in cryptocurrency to let him go.
Richards also said the guys “seemed to justify action against the victim in this case based on his [religious] background as if he was less worthy of your respect and compassion, and [that is] utterly abhorrent to any right-thinking person.”
The attackers’ chats showed they did it for Islamic reasons, telling each other to “keep [in] mind your intention of jihad.”
Another message said, “All three of us have complete, 100% faith in Allah, so we can’t fail.”
In court, the judge read a statement from Kashti saying he thought he might die during the attack.
“The awful incident of October 7 flashed through his mind as he lay restrained on the floor in handcuffs,” the judge read.

Kashti also said “he was thinking of his Jewish ancestors who suffered through the Holocaust.”
“All three of us have complete, 100% faith in Allah, so we can’t fail,” read a message from one of the kidnappers.
