The Senate's so called "border security" deal was released on Sunday evening and although both Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and James Lankford (R-OK) said the prior leaks were incorrect, it turns out the bill sucked as badly as originally believed it would.
First of all, the real reason for the bill had little if nothing to do with the actual crisis at the southern border. It was about Ukraine funding for the most part, with an additional $60 billion sent to them.
Insofar as the Southern Border is concerned, the bill says the "border emergency authority" only goes into effect after 5,000 illegal aliens are "encountered" at the border--just like we knew all along and the RINO Senator from Oklahoma denied.
So do the math: 1,800,000 illegal aliens per year will arrive here before anything is done to stop the hemorrhaging of potential criminals and terrorists. And trust me, there will be some of those characters because we've seen them already.
Before the 5,000 illegal immigrant threshold is met, the bill says that single adults would be detained and the catch-and-release policy for families would remain in place. Now that's going to be hard for the cartels to get around, isn't it? I can't imagine how they could possibly beat the system. There will be hardly any DNA testing funding in the bill to confirm veracity of family claims.
In addition, unaccompanied minor children [aka future Democrats] would be handed over to the Office of Refugee Resettlement [or possibly MS13].
There's a lot more to be upset over in the bill, but you can read it yourself here.
I am sick of our political leaders routinely lying to us. We must vote them out of office and replace them with honorable men and women.
