IDF may have neutralized four Iranian Revolutionary Guard terrorists

DAMASCUS/BEIRUT—The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) killed four scumcrumpets of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). One of the terrorists was the head of the information unit of the organization. [H/T Reuters]

The IRGC in Tehran named four of their advisers who were killed in the precision strike, but did not give their rank, nor how many of them were named Mohammed nor any derivative thereof. They said that details will be announced later.

Iranian state television said the targeted building was the residence of Iranian advisers in the Syrian capital.

There was no immediate comment from Israel, which has long pursued a bombing campaign against Iran's military and security presence in Syria. It has shifted to deadlier strikes in the wake of the Oct. 7 attack on Israel by militants of the Iranian-backed Palestinian Islamist group Hamas from Gaza.

The “aerial attack” was on a building in the Mazzeh neighborhood of Damascus, according to state media. They claim that Syria shot down a number of incoming missiles, but this has not been confirmed by Israel.

The security source is part of a network of groups close to Syria's government and Iran, its major ally. They said the multi-story building was used by Iranian advisers supporting President Assad’s government. It was stated that the building was completely flattened by the “precision-targeted Israeli missiles.”

However, Israel did not take credit for the strike.

According to the source, a fifth person whose nationality was not known was also killed.

Essam Al-Amin, head of the Al-Mowasat Hospital in Damascus, said that his hospital had received one dead terrorist and three wounded people, including a woman.

A witness near the attack saw ambulances and fire trucks gathered around the site of the strike, which had been cordoned off. Rescue operations for people stuck under the rubble continued through the day. The building is being checked at this time for other victims. 

Palestinian Islamic Jihad, an Iranian-backed Palestinian terrorist faction present in Syria and Lebanon, condemned Saturday's air strike but told Reuters that none of their members were wounded, dismissing reports that some were at the bombed-out building.
