The Democrats used to say that the GOP was the party of old White men. Joe Biden. Joe Biden.
California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein is 89 years old and that's even older than our alleged President. She made her retirement announcement Tuesday but just hours later told alleged reporters that she hadn't made her decision if she is going to retire in 2024 when she hits the big nine-oh.
According to a lot of anonymous sources, a Feinstein staffer quickly told the forgetful senator that she already made the statement that she'll be retiring, so Feinstein "made a save" by claiming she didn't know the information had already been released.
Reporters, as some refer to them, present for the interaction immediately took to Twitter to report on the aging Feinstein's Biden-like confusion.
"Asked by reporters about her announcement to resign, [Feinstein] says 'If I haven't made that decision, I haven't released anything.' A staffer then told the senator that a statement had been released. Feinstein responded saying ‘I didn’t know they put it out,’" one reporter wrote, later clarifying he meant "retire" instead of "resign."
"Feinstein on her retirement: 'I haven’t made that decision. I haven't released anything.' Staffer: ‘We put out the statement.’ Feinstein: 'You put out the statement? I didn't know they put it out,'" another reporter reported.
The second Democratic reporter later corrected her accurate reporting, saying it sounded like Feinstein said "I should have known they put it out," rather than "I didn't know they put it out."
According to another report from Raw Story, which included an audio clip of Feinstein speaking to a reporter, she wasn't aware that she was retiring at all.
"Oh, no, I'm not announcing anything. I will one day," Feinstein told the outlet in an interview only an hour after her retirement was announced.

Feinstein's memory and cognitive abilities have previously been described Biden-like, but not in those terms, of course.
Last year, a number of her Senate colleagues anonymously expressed concern that her memory was fading and that she no longer had the ability to serve.
At the time, President Biden responded to the cowardly claim, as he called it, and said "Dianne and Hunter are the two smartest people I know. I'm not kidding."
