Tel Aviv merges with other cities including Bnei Brak, Ramat Gan, Bat Yam, and Holon. Just a small deviation in course would have resulted in countless civilian death, so Israel did what any normal nation would do when threatened: they responded with a military strike.
The Associated Press reported this instance, and this time they reported without significant bias. But CBS took the AP reporting and while leaving it intact, they changed the title of the piece. The AP original which can be viewed on its website here, was titled “Israeli jets hit militant targets in Gaza after rocket fire.” But the title CBS [which must stand for Creative BS] gave it was: “Israel hits Gaza with airstrikes.” They ran the entire piece verbatim but changed the title and it wasn't until the fourth paragraph that the actual reason for Israel's response was revealed.
Many people lose interest in reading articles in full and CBS knows this. [If you've read this far, you're obviously more intelligent than CBS fans.]
This media bias by many outlets on the Left is clearly anti-Zionist, and by extension, anti-Semitic. When you criticize Israel for defensive responses, but not their enemies for the same actions, by definition this is anti-Semitic. And when the message is being distorted by the media in any way to suggest victimhood of Israel's enemies, while ignoring the events that preceded Israel's response, this is no different and is obviously anti-Semitic.
And this is exactly what CBS did by using syndicated copy by the AP and changing the headline to warp the actual event.
But don't think the AP has no fault in the matter. The story only got reported by international journalists after Israel responded to the attack. If only they had taken it like many of them did during the Holocaust, the story would have never been written.
Accordingly, the AP copy describes how “three huge explosions” were seen in the southern Gaza Strip while fighter jets were audible overhead. They also minimized the situation stating that “Gaza-based militant groups often test-fire missiles toward the sea.”
The AP also "forgets" to mention how the IAF frequently chooses unmanned targets to strike in Gaza in order to minimize human casualties, while Hamas frequently chooses targets in Israel to maximize human casualties. They simply stated that “there was no immediate confirmation on possible casualties.”

Of all the nations on earth, no nation tries as hard to pinpoint retaliatory responses to the degree that Israel does, while, in spite of this, the press emphasizes the Palestinian casualties that may occur after Israel does what it can to deter terrorists who target anyone they can across the border.
In this case, however, CBS is really the one to blame. They wittingly changed the feel of the story by changing the title and they should be held accountable. This is worse than fake news--it's bias and disgusting but I doubt that anything will be done.
