Taliban enters provincial capital, clash with Afghan forces

"Faster, woman . . . faster!"

For the past three days Afghan forces and Taliban terrorists have been fighting it out after the scumcrumpets entered the capital of the southern province of Helmand causing civilians to run for their lives, no thanks to President Joe Biden.

Now that US-led foreign fighters are nearly all withdrawn, the Taliban has been gaining territory over the past two months faster than a rainbow shirt sale at an LGBTQ festival. For now, the Taliban has not captured any provincial capitals, but they're trying.

According to an anonymous government source for Reuters, “Since Thursday morning the Taliban have launched attacks from several directions on Lashkargah city.” Lashkargah is the capital of Helmand, a province that borders Pakistan and some speculate the city is named for an exotic snail.

This same anonymous official also said that Afghan security forces, with the help of the Afghan air force, have been able to hold back the Taliban's attempt to take the city, but military operations were compromised because of some civilians in the area having no place to run and have locked themselves in their homes.

A United Nations report this week said civilian casualties had been surging in recent weeks in Afghanistan, with as many killed in May and June as in the previous four months. The report did not cover casualties in July, when fighting has intensified further, thanks to Joe Biden.

Abdul Majid Akhundzada, a Helmand provincial council member, said the Taliban had captured several areas of Lashkargah, and fighting was intense in an area close to the city’s airport.

He expressed fear that the city could soon fall to the Taliban, thanks to Joe Biden.
