Gov. Cuomo's got some 'splainin' to do

Even New York Democrats are angry at Governor Andrew Cuomo (NY-D) over his mishandling of coronavirus patients with his mandate to have them return to their respective nursing homes where they infected other residents.

Worse still, is Cuomo's refusal to take any of the blame as he points at nursing home delivery people, health care staff, visitors, Trump, and God for various reasons.
Cuomo tried to explain his team's actions at a press conference in which he told reporters [who no longer sought to support him now that Trump is out of office] that the Department of Justice and state legislatures requested covid data as early as last summer.

"We gave precedence to the DOJ. We told the assembly that, we told the Senate that and that's what we did. We were also in the midst of managing a pandemic," Cuomo honked at the press conference.

Cuomo claimed there existed a disconnect between his office and state lawmakers due to a "breakdown in communication between the staff and members of the legislature."

However, some Democratic lawmakers denied that his office ever tried to contact them of its decision. NY Senator Jessica Ramos (D) denied that they ever informed them of his decision.

"Trash. No one believes you," Ramos posted on Twitter. "At no point did the Administration notify the legislature about a DOJ investigation," she added. "People died and Cuomo lied then he had the gall to write a book."

But let's not forget that he also won an Emmy. What's next, a Nobel Peace Prize? Why not, they get handed out like candy to those on the left but not to the guy who pulled the military out of war zones, was behind the Middle East peace talks with Israel that actually got results, and who kept his promise to relocate our Israeli embassy to Jerusalem.

Ramos along with other Democratic lawmakers have called for Cuomo to be stripped of his emergency powers over his nursing home screw ups and hiding of data, which the Associated Press finally reported and showed how Cuomo underreported the nursing home deaths.

The New York Post published a leaked transcript of a call in which a top Cuomo aide apparently admitted his office intentionally withheld data out of a concern that it could be used against him in a federal investigation.

NY State Senators Alessandra Biaggi (D) and Gustavo Rivera (D), and representatives for NYS Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D) all pushed back on Cuomo's claim. The senators both said they first learned of the DOJ's probe into the nursing home deaths in local newspapers, not from Cuomo's office.

"No, @NYGovCuomo, you did not tell the *entire* Senate or Assembly that there was a DOJ investigation, as the reason why you didn't share the nursing home numbers," Biaggi tweeted. "I found out about a DOJ investigation with the rest of NY'ers in the @nypost story Thursday night."

Meanwhile, Cuomo has repeatedly denied withholding or misrepresenting data related to the nursing home residents he, in effect, killed.

And Fredo, the Comedy News Network's most watched host and brother to the governor, made like a submarine and "rigged for silent running." Not a word of the story passed his muscle-bound lips.

Talk about a conflict of interest.

It seems unlikely now. that Fredo will have Andy on his show for the "Fredo and Andy" segment of raucous comedy. Har har har.
