Jussie Smollett has new charges to deal with related to the "attack"

Jussie Smollett [aka Juss Smellit] had to appear in court Monday on new charges alleging that he lied to police over his claim that he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack last year in Chicago in the middle of the night during sub-zero temperatures by MAGA hatted Trump supporters who knew who he was, knew that he is gay, and was waiting to jump a liberal at 3 a.m. leaving a Subway sandwich shop. They allegedly told Smellit that "this is MAGA country."

Chicago . . .  MAGA country?

The two "attackers" just happened to be carrying a rope to perform a mock hanging on a black guy [which they happened to be as well] and were carrying bleach to throw at him, but without drenching the sandwich her bought and refused to discard in the "kerfuffle."

Smellit, the former "Empire" actor, 37, is expected to plead not guilty to the six counts of felony disorderly conduct during Monday's hearing. He pleaded not guilty to 16 counts of the charge in the same courthouse last year, just weeks before the Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx's office abruptly announced it was dismissing the case, due to his intersectional creds, angering police and City Hall [not the building but those who work in it].

Special Prosecutor Dan Webb, a former U.S. attorney who was appointed to examine the state's attorney's office's handling of the case, is expected to attend, but Foxx's office is not involved in the new case against the black, gay, singer/actor/late night street performer.

Juss Smellit is facing six new charges against him connected to his alleged hate crime attack in January 2019.

The black, gay, singer/actor/late night street performer, who has denied police allegations that he staged the attack [LOL] to get attention and further his career, will first appear before Chief Judge LeRoy Martin Jr., who will inform him of who the judge will be to preside over the case.

Martin could order Smellit to return to court on another day for his first hearing before the new judge, but it's likely that he will simply tell the black, gay actor and the attorneys to immediately report to the trial judge to save him the bus fare for a return trip.

Weeks later, police alleged that Smellit paid two black brothers by check to help stage the attack. He was fortunate not to have written in the check's memo section: "For attacking me and putting noose around my neck," but nobody would have been surprised if he did.

Smollett has maintained his innocence, telling reporters after the charges were dropped last year that, “I would not be my mother's son if I was capable of one drop of what I was accused of.”

His mother refused to comment.

Foxx's mishandling of the clusterf*** of a case has become a key issue in her bid for re-election, with her opponents accusing her of having acted haphazardly and indecisively, which were charitable accusations when you think about it.
