Deadly racism in S. Africa against white people

Cyril Ramaphosa [his surname means: "sex with a butterfly"] was elected earlier this year and has committed his African National Congress (ANC) to forcibly taking back land that has been worked and cultivated by white farmers.

ANC chairman Gwede Mantashe [his surname means: "an incredibly full mustache"] said last week, causing panic: "You shouldn't own more than 25,000 acres of land.

"Therefore if you own more, it should be taken without compensation. People who are privileged never give away privilege as a matter of a gift. And that is why we say, to give you the tools, revisit the constitution so that you have a legal tool to do it."

But the unions of both black and white farmers condemned the idea and predicted such a move would lead to job losses and possible starvation in S. Africa.

Omri van Zyl, head of the Agri SA union representing mostly white commercial farmers said: "The mood among our members is very solemn.

"They are confused about the lack of any apparent strategy from the government and many are panicking. So many farms are up for sale, more than we've ever had, but no one is buying."

Gee, I wonder why.

It makes you wish that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would help solve the situation, being such an expert on government control of resources.

Of course the move will destroy property rights and deter investment.

In nearby Zimbabwe, there have been violent land seizures under the authorization of Robert Mugabe in the 1990s that sent the country into a nosedive from which it never recovered.

White farmers along with their families are being forced out, often in a casket, if there's enough remains to bury.

Practically speaking, about 20 percent of SA's farms produce 80 percent of the food that feeds millions of people in southern Africa and many of those farms will be affected by the acreage cap.

Even the National African Farmer's Union (Nafu), which represents black farmers, agreed the idea of kicking white farmers off from their larger farms, would lead to job losses.

But racists care little for the outcomes of their actions beyond the hatred they are able to inflict upon those who have less melanin. It's like the story of the scorpion and the frog except the scorpion cannot help itself.
