Snowflake-free IDF deploys first female tank deployment

In March, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that 15 women had been selected out of mixed-gender recruits to serve in a pilot program for tanks. This is part of Israel's efforts to increase gender integration among their snowflake-free combat forces.

They are now ready to be deployed along the Israeli southern border, The Times of Israel reported.

Thirteen of the women selected have made it through the training program on Israel's Merkava Mark III tanks.

A few stats on the Merkava Mark III:

The Merkava Mark III was introduced in December 1989 and remained in production until 2003. It is by far the most used tank in frontline IDF service. It has an upgraded drivetrain, powertrain, armament and electronic systems over its Mark II predecessor, and the biggest addition was the new Israel-developed IMI 120 mm gun. The Mark III weighs 65 tons but has a larger engine with an increased cruising speed of 37 mph. It has upgraded ammo storage containers to minimize ammunition cook-off; laser designators and a Kasag modular armor system designed for quick replacement and repair on the battlefield.

The women will join the army's 80th Division this month which operates in the southern Negev and Arava deserts. They will not be part of the regular Armored Corps combat units, but will join the Border Defense Force, a recent creation meant to be deployed only within Israel's borders.

Deployment of the women comes at a time the IDF is trying to accommodate the growing number of females who are seeking combat roles because unlike the leftists in the U.S., they actually love their country and are willing to fight and die for it. 

In fact, during the past five years, the number of women seeking combat roles has increased 500 percent!
