ND court reverses judge's decision that legalizes abortion

The North Dakota Supreme Court has reversed a lower court's ruling and reinstated the state's near-total abortion ban, declaring it constitutional.

Under the reinstated law, performing an abortion is now a Class C felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine for healthcare providers. Women seeking abortions remain exempt from criminal prosecution.

North Dakota moved quickly to restrict abortion following the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade. The state's only abortion clinic, Red River Women’s Clinic, subsequently relocated from Fargo, North Dakota, to Moorhead, Minnesota, just across the state line.

In 2023, the legislature passed a near-total ban with narrow exceptions for cases of rape, incest, or medical emergencies. A district court judge, Bruce Romanick, later struck down the law, ruling that its language was unconstitutionally vague and created confusion for doctors.

North Dakota’s constitution requires at least four of the five supreme court justices to agree in order to invalidate a law. In this 3–2 decision, only three justices found the ban unconstitutionally vague, which was not enough to keep it blocked. The majority upheld the law.

Justice Jerod Tufte, writing for the majority, argued that the state constitution's protections of natural rights do not include abortion and that the statute “provides adequate and fair warning to those attempting to comply.”

Opponents of the ruling described the decision as a major setback for reproductive healthcare in the state.

"As a majority of the Court found, this cruel and confusing ban is incomprehensible to physicians. The ban forces doctors to choose between providing care and going to prison," said Center for Reproductive Rights senior staff attorney Meetra Mehdizadeh. "Abortion is healthcare, and North Dakotans deserve to be able to access this care without delay caused by confusion about what the law allows."

Republicans, meanwhile, celebrated the outcome.

"The Supreme Court has upheld this important pro-life legislation, enacted by the people’s Legislature. The attorney general’s office has the solemn responsibility of defending the laws of North Dakota, and today those laws have been upheld," said North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley, a Republican.

State Senator Janne Myrdal, the Republican who sponsored the 2023 ban, expressed relief and satisfaction with the ruling: "I am thrilled and grateful that two justices that are highly respected saw the truth of the matter, that this is fully constitutional for the mother and for the unborn child and thereafter for that sake.'

Target says sorry after firing woman over what was on her name tag

Fargo, ND -- A woman was fired from Target for wearing "Men Can Have Babies Too" on her name tag.

Just kidding--she was fired for having the words "trust in Jesus" below her name. If she had the former saying, I would likely not be writing this because she would have likely kept her job.

But now Target has issued an apology to Denise Kendrick, who was initially fired for "violating the company's dress code, according to KVLY. She said the firing came after a manager approached her about the tag.

“I replied, ‘Well, I’ve seen people with rainbows on theirs. I’m going to continue to wear this name tag,’ and then they said, ‘Well, you can’t work here anymore,’” she told the news outlet.

Ms. Kendrick said the manager refused to provide documentation explaining the reason for her firing. She also asked for a written statement as to why she was terminated, but she said the manager refused to provide it.

However, Kendrick said she was given a paper with a list of contact information regarding Target’s dress code policy.

“They gave me this paper with all these phone numbers on it and said, ‘If you have any questions about the violation of the dress code, just call one of these numbers.’ And he just kept repeating it, and we just kept going back and forth, and it was going nowhere,” she said.

Kendrick said on the day of her firing, she was wearing a plain red sweatshirt, jeans and her name tag...

However, after reviewing the incident, Target apologized and offered Kendrick her job back.

Kendrick said she didn't understand the manager’s actions because she had worn other religion-themed items previously with no issues. “I’ve worn Christian-themed shirts before to work for months and have never had an issue. I’m wondering why the name tag was any different,” she explained.

Upon reviewing the incident, Target issued a statement with the apology:

“Upon learning of the situation, we conducted a review and determined that the team member should not have been terminated. We apologized to her and offered to reinstate her immediately. We are taking the appropriate steps to address the actions taken by the individual leader involved in this situation and are working with the store to ensure our policies are appropriately followed moving forward.”

Kendrick has not indicated whether she will return to Target, who apparently have more respect for men who think they're women than for many who believe Jesus is the son of God. 

For now, there are no further details about the incident, but it seems as if Kendrick did not violate Target's dress code policy. Rather it was the manager who took it upon himself to make up a dress code violation because he is not a fan of Jesus and may, in fact, be a fan of people with gender dysphoria and perhaps other mental disorders since he did not have issues with people who expressed their support of this mentally ill community since he didn't show the same treatment to the LGBTQ+1XYZ-42&/ community.

Unfortunately, Kendrick's case is all too common as the "woke" often try to coerce others into abiding by their radical ideology. Imagine, a manager was willing to take away a person's income for wearing a name tag that would obviously not threaten normal customers.

Although Target did the right thing with an apology, it isn't known what the fate of the woke manager was or whether Ms. Kendrick returned to her job.

N. Dakota teen randomly attacked while skateboarding dies

Daisy "Jupiter" Paulsen died four days after being viciously and randomly attacked at a strip mall in Fargo, ND while skateboarding. The 14-year-old was choked, beaten and stabbed over 20 times in the attack which lasted about 20 minutes.

The child was declared brain dead Tuesday. Her family plans to donate her organs, local news outlet The Forum reported.

Her alleged assailant, Arthur Prince Kollie, 23, was first charged with attempted murder and now will be charged with murder. His excuse for the attack was that he used methamphetamine on June 3, the day prior to the attack, and he denied any role in the assault, according to court documents.

The alleged scumbag was on probation for a 2017 conviction for assaulting a peace officer and claims he was merely going for a stroll near where the attack took place and insisted he did "not recall" when questioned about it.

Jupiter was skateboarding from her dad Robert’s house to her mom’s place about 7 a.m. Friday when she was attacked, according to The Forum. The attack, which was near Party City, was partially caught on video surveillance.

A sanitation worker driving in the area saw a man wearing a white T-shirt and black pants leaning or standing over the girl with one hand on her nose and the other on her throat, the documents state.

The suspect fled but police later traced him to a Walmart store [that sells China goods] about a half-mile from the site of the attack. Store security footage showed a person grabbing new clothes, putting them on in a changing room and leaving without paying. 

Police found discarded shoes and blood-soaked clothes in the changing room. They later found a man matching the description of the person who stole the clothing and identified him as Kollie.

When told he was under arrest for robbery and attempted murder, Kollie reportedly responded: “Attempted murder, as is she alive? Or what? What does attempted murder mean?” implying that he's a schmuck or never watched "LA Law."

On May 7, the crap weasel pleaded guilty to discharging a firearm within city limits, possessing a firearm as a felon and possessing drug paraphernalia as a schmuck.He was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation and a mere 27 days in jail — but court records show he had been released after already serving that time in the slammer, The Forum reported.

On Monday, Jupiter’s dad posted an update to an online fundraiser, saying: “We just got word from the Doctor today that Our baby girl is too far gone and there isn’t anything they can do. Just to gather family and to say our goodbyes.”

On Wednesday, the organ donation flag was raised outside Sanford Hospital to honor Jupiter after she was taken off life support, KVLY-TV reported.

It will be interesting to see what kind of outcome there will be for Kollie. What a POS.
