Hamas' list of hostages set for Saturday release not in the agreement, Israel says

Naive woman thinks ending the war now means ending the war

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Office stated that the list Hamas published of the four hostages to be released on Saturday did not comply with the agreement, according to a statement on Friday.

"Israel is preparing to receive the hostages tomorrow. The list of prisoners will be provided this evening," a security source said on Friday evening, as reported by Israeli media.

Under the hostage deal, it was agreed that the four individuals set for release on Saturday would include three soldiers and one civilian.

The deal involves the release of 33 hostages in the first phase, in exchange for security prisoners, humanitarian aid, and the withdrawal of the IDF from some areas in Gaza.

Hamas is also obligated to provide a list detailing the status of the remaining 26 hostages in Gaza who are scheduled for release in this initial phase.

For the first time, Israel will get official information on the fate of the Bibas family: parents Shiri and Yarden, and their children, Ariel and Kfir.

Israel has made preparations to exert pressure on Hamas if they try to "play games" with the lists.

On Friday evening, protesters blocked the Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv, demonstrating against the current deal, arguing that every hostage, whether dead or alive, should be brought home.

The first three hostages, Emily Damari, Doron Steinbrecher, and Romi Gonen, were freed from Hamas captivity on Sunday.

Israel will release 30 Palestinian detainees for each civilian hostage and 50 for each Israeli female soldier Hamas releases. The hostages expected to be released in the first phase are categorized under humanitarian conditions, such as women, children, the elderly, or the wounded.
