US troops face ongoing attacks in Middle East as war between Israel and Hamas continues

In the last week, U.S officials said on Tuesday that American troops have been attacked with rockets and suicide drones at least 14 times in the Middle East.

Between October 17 and 24, Americans in Iraq were attacked ten times, and simultaneously, U.S. troops in Syria were struck three times, Air Force Gen. Pat Ryder explained.

At a Monday briefing, a senior defense official said that they expected to see a "significant escalation" in attacks against U.S. military personnel, due to the war between Israel and Hamas.

"I think it’s fair to say when you see this uptick in activity in attacks by many of these groups, there’s Iranian fingerprints all over it," the defense official explained.

Two U.S. defense officials confirmed later on Tuesday that Iran proxy forces fired a rocket at Iraq's Ain al-Asad air base, which houses American troops.

No injuries or damages or reported from the rocket, which was intercepted.
