Democrat candidate's father calls him out for lying about Naval service

Lyin' Clyde Shavers

Clyde Shavers is a Democratic candidate for the Washington state's House in 10th District. He had been feuding with his father, a former U.S. Marine, about the truthfulness of his claim about the details of his Naval service. Clyde claimed he served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine officer, Brett Shavers, his dad said that Shavers lied.

"Clyde was never a submarine officer, not even for a day," Brett Shavers wrote. He went on to dismiss any notions that his son served proudly in the military, going so far as to say Clyde Shavers has a "disdain" for enlisted service members.

"Clyde has only disdain for the military. I have seen Clyde's use of veteran status used heavily as a seal of endorsement of honor and integrity, even as he or his campaign continually use the phrase 'son of a Marine' for his credibility," Brett Shavers explained.

He then added, "There are no words that I have that could come close to overemphasize Clyde's negative view of the military, his disdain of enlisted service members, and his revulsion to wear the uniform."

The position the Democratic candidate claimed to have held requires a very long period of training and three separate courses and the Navy Office of Information at the Pentagon, verified that Clyde Shavers was never a U.S. Navy Nuclear Submarine Officer. However, he did undergo Navy Nuclear Power School and training and was honorably discharged September 30, 2021 as a Lieutenant working as a Public Affairs Officer.

He graduated the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD in July 2009 and completed his training in July 2013. He was a student in the Navy Nuclear Power School in Charleston NC from July 13, 2013 until February 19, 2014, and then a student of a Nuclear Power Training Unit in Billston Spa, New York from February 27, 2014 until August 7, 2015.

So while Clyde Shavers was in the Navy and was trained in part on Nuclear Power, but he never served as an officer on a Nuclear Submarine and he should consider apologizing to the public and

Brett Shavers reportedly sent the signed letter on Sunday to the campaign of Greg Gilday — Clyde's Republican opponent. The text was then circulated to local outlets, including the Daily Herald and Herald Net.

Brett Shavers also alleged in his letter that his son is also only tied to the 10th Legislative District by renting a bed and breakfast in the area, and that his son embellished his family history and law credentials.

So a vote for Clyde Shavers is like a vote for another lying Democrat who currently wanders the White House.
