The President of Freedom of the Press Foundation and former contractor at the National Security Agency currently living in Moscow, Russia in exile since 2013, Edward Snowden has said not a word publicly about Russia's criminalization of independent reporting after they launched an invasion of Ukraine on February 24th. And while his shirt spells out his organization, and the caption above his head says, "Stand for Something," the only thing Snowden apparently stands for his himself.
His organization, of which he is president, is a California-based charity that tracks "press freedom violations" in the United States as minor as journalists being denied access to press conferences, similar to what Russia is doing to non-sanctioned journalists in Snowden's adopted country.
Just this past Jan. 26th, Snowden urged Danish citizens to go against their government when it threatened to impose lengthy prison sentences on members of the media who reported state secrets. But now Snowden is silent about Russia imposing imprisonment of up to 15 years. for reporting on what Russia is doing in Ukraine and conveniently labels their atrocities as "fake news."
Snowden is as quiet as a roach peeing on a cotton ball.
Snowden and the Freedom of the Press Foundation did not return requests for comment made by Fox News and Brain Flushings because he's a commie coward whose words are as useless as Betamax tape.
Snowden issued a slew of tweets prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in which the twerp criticized the Biden administration for claiming Russia's invasion was imminent and blasting American media for "pushing for war." While that may be true, when it comes to what Russia did when they invaded was evaded by the traitorous slime ball.
"So... if nobody shows up for the invasion Biden scheduled for tomorrow morning at 3AM, I'm not saying your journalistic credibility was instrumentalized (sic) as part of one of those disinformation campaigns you like to write about, but you should at least consider the possibility," Snowden tweeted on Feb. 15.
Examples the Russian government gives of "fake information" include any reporting of the invasion of Ukraine that isn't sourced directly from the Russian Defense Ministry.
Like Twitter, YouTube and Facebook, the Russian government determines what is real and what is fake, and this doesn't seem to rattle Edward Snowden's cage enough to condemn the practice he pretends to be fighting against.
Russia's law has led many Western news outlets to suspend reporting in Russia.
“The change to the criminal code, which seems designed to turn any independent reporter into a criminal purely by association, makes it impossible to continue any semblance of normal journalism inside the country,” Bloomberg News Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait said Friday.

However, since February 27th, Snowden stopped commenting to his 5.1 million followers because, like AOC on gas prices soaring, he had nothing to say that would get him in trouble.
"I'm not suspended from the ceiling above a barrel of acid by a rope that burns a little faster every time I tweet, you concern-trolling ghouls," he said. "I've just lost any confidence I had that sharing my thinking on this particular topic continues to be useful, because I called it wrong."

The truth is, Snowden is scared and has no business being head of an organization called Freedom of the Press Foundation. He deserves the permanent residency in Russia that he was granted in October 2020. And while he says he never worked for or cooperated with the Russian government, do you really believe him?
Snowden was the cause of enormous damage to our national security and likely compromised the safety of clandestine operators in the CIA. He should never be allowed to return to this country without the promise of legal repercussions for what he did.
