The terrorists who couldn't shoot straight: 3 Israeli hitchhikers escape

Okay, it wasn't so much the terrorists couldn't shoot straight, as the title of this post suggests, it's that their M-16 jammed probably because they didn't clean it. [H/T World Israel News]

Shova Cohen stood at a bus stop near the town of Efrat early in December. There were two religious Jews also waiting when the group spied a vehicle heading their way. Perhaps they would give them a ride, Shova thought. People there are friendly and the bus was taking forever to arrive.

As the car slowed to a crawl, the trio leaned toward them and asked where they were going in the hope of getting a ride when one of the men saw the gun and shouted, "Terrorist! He has a gun!"

There was no time to run as they were at point blank range. 

Shova laid on the ground waiting to die but there was no gunshot--the M-16 jammed.

One of the religious Jews got up and ran toward the car to get the plate number but the terrorists had already abandoned the vehicle. The trio then left the area and notified the security guards.

“When I got to the gate at Efrat I had yet to comprehend what had happened. I started to cry from confusion, but the security guard reassured me ‘this is a miracle, God loves you, you should not cry,'” Cohen told Israel National News.

Yes, it was a Hanukkah miracle.

Later that evening the trio testified to the police and Shin Bet, the Israeli security organization that was established in 1949 whose motto is "The unseen shield." They were shown a photo of a vehicle which they immediately identified as the one transporting the terrorists who tried to kill them for being Jewish.

Another Hanukkah miracle: the group of terrorists were captured the next day, interrogated and found to be part of a larger terrorist cell that planned to carry out more attacks.
