Rockets fired on Iraqi airbase: 4 Iraqis wounded

Four servicemen were injured Sunday after 6 rockets targeted Balad Air Base north of Baghdad. American trainers had been on that base until recently, Iraqi officials said.

Some of the rockets fell on a restaurant inside the base, located some 50 miles north of Baghdad, the officials added. No Iranian group immediately claimed responsibility but Iraq is positive that the rockets did not come from Israel.

There were no Americans on the air base at the time of the attack.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted:
“Outraged by reports of another rocket attack on an Iraqi airbase,” he tweeted. “I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured and call on the government of Iraq to hold those responsible for these attacks accountable.”
In a second tweet he added:
“These continued violations of Iraq’s sovereignty by groups not loyal to the Iraqi government must end.”
Technically, if the rockets came from another country, this would be considered an act of war. The attack came just several days after Iran fired ballistic missiles at Iraqi air bases Ain al-Asad and Irbil in response to the U.S. killing of Iranian terrorist and scumcrumpet extraordinaire, Cassem Soleimani.
Democrat or Republican? You make the call
Previously, Balad Air Base hosted American trainers, advisers and a company providing maintenance services for F-16 aircraft.

These limited strikes by Iran appear to be a show of bravado after we blew away their head terrorist, much to the sadness of the U.S. Democratic Party.

Currently, Soleimani's comely daughter is calling for revenge for the smithereening of her father.
