The death toll is currently four. Since it's a fact that in virtually all of the so-called "security threats" in France, they are Islamist jihad-related, it's a safe bet that this one is as well.
The shooter remains at large. He shot at least 13 individuals, four of whom have since died. The terror incident happened in the city of Strasbourg on the eastern part of France, in it famous Christmas market that sees millions of visitors annually.
Law enforcement is treating the attack as a terrorist act and anti-terrorist prosecutors have begun an investigation as a manhunt using police and soldiers is underway. French media says the gunman is at large but has already been "identified" as being on a "security threats" list.
The terrorist was wounded by soldiers on patrol, part of Sentinelle, France's anti-terror operation. Still, the scumquat was able to get away from the police.
According to police, the terrorist was later located on rue Epinal where shots were being exchanged.

The European Parliament based in the city was in lockdown after reports of the shooting, with British and other MEPs, staff and journalists unable to leave the building which is very close to the square.
According to Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace, a local paper, a gunman opened fire in the busy rue des Grandes-Arcades at around 8 p.m. local time.
“Several sites” in the city center were concerned, it added. These included rue des Orfèvres, rue des Grandes-Arcades and Grand’Rue.
