Tree of Life Synagogue Rabbi Jeffrey Meyers told the Comedy News Network that he was "pleasantly surprised" by President Trump's warmth and compassion when he visited the Pittsburgh site of the anti Semitic attack that killed 11 Jewish worshippers and wounded 6 others, 4 of whom are police.
"I was privileged to have a private fifteen or twenty minutes with the [Trump] family. The president was very warm, very consoling," the rabbi said.
"He put his hand on my shoulder and the first question he asked me was, 'Rabbi, tell me, how are you doing?' And I must say throughout the time we spent together I was pleasantly surprised by a warm and personal side to the president that I don't think American has ever seen," the rabbi added.
Meyers spoke to President Trump and his family about his ordeal and they talked about the issue of hate speech and other personal matters.
Rabbi Meyers has received backlash from leftists who care more about the optics of him getting along with the president than his grief for the losses in his congregation.
He said that "he's received so many hateful emails that he's lost count," The Daily Signal reported, proving yet again, how the nation has a long way to go to assuage the bitter hatred we are feeling. But this is true especially on the left as they still cannot get over the fact that Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.
In some extreme cases, the leftist tears still flow.
