UPDATE: Local media reports that four people are dead and ten are injured. As more information is made available, updates will follow.
It is being reported by the Daily Mail Online that the shooter killed himself.
Jacksonville, Florida -- This is a breaking, ongoing story. One suspect is dead at the scene after a "mass shooting" in downtown Jacksonville occurred. It is unknown if there's a second suspect.
There are multiple fatalities, according to the Sheriff's Office, but it is early and the information is likely to change. But many people were transported to the hospital.
The area is a popular one filled with restaurants and pubs. Police are urging everyone, including media, to stay away from the area.
The GLFH Game Bar is where the shooting occurred during a Maddon tournament. It is being live-streamed across the country.
Many people are being found hiding in the area and police are asking people who may still be hunkered down to not come out running but to call 911.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives went on Twitter and posted that they are responding to the shooting.
The area of the shooting is known as the Landing and is located along the St. Johns River. It has a "wide variety of waterfront dining options and a cozy inside shopping mall," as it is described by local merchants.
Some people on social media participating in the Madden NFL Championship Series reported gunshots shortly after 1:30 p.m. during the livestream of the tournament on Twitch.
"We ask you to stay calm, stay where you are hiding. SWAT is doing a methodical search inside The Landing," police said. "We will get to you. Please don't come running out."
The winner of the 2018 Madden Challenge, Drini Gjoka, tweeted that he was injured in the shooting.
"The tourney just got shot up. Im leavinng [sic] and never coming back," Gjoka wrote.
