NFL team decides it wants fans to watch their games

The Houston Texans of the NFL appear to be avoiding free agents who refused to stand for the national anthem of the United States and instead, "took a knee" in a tribute to a non-existent epidemic of police brutality and other nonsense such as the fair and democratic election of President Donald Trump.

The protests, inspired by Colin Kaepernick, a former quarterback with minimal talent who needed to stay relevant, took the NFL by storm last season. But now it has made an impact on the way the Houston Texans will go after free agents.

According to the Houston Chronicle, a pair of NFL agents told them the team isn't interested in selecting players who took a knee during the national anthem last season.

Evidently, they [correctly] believe that it's bad for business. And since the NFL head, Roger Goodell, doesn't have the testicular fortitude to made it mandatory for players to stand during the anthem, the Houston Texans solved the problem themselves.

Although there is no official directive, the team management isn't going to pursue anyone who disrespects the anthem and what it represents.

Team owner Bob McNair got into hot soup last season when he said "we can't have the inmates running the prison" during a meeting with NFL owners about players protesting during the national anthem.

He probably should have instead said: "We can't have the inmates running the asylum." That's the origin of the expression and it would have been more accurate.

But McNair hurt the fragile feelings of the team and the next game most of the players kneeled during the anthem.

Some may have cried. We will never know.
