BREAKING: Initial reports Vegas shooter Muslim convert. Now, not so much

The Las Vegas shooter at the Route 91 Harvest Festival country music concert was initially identified as a 64-year-old "recent convert to Islam" named Stephen Paddock. He was a resident of Mesquite, Nevada.

Now officials are saying" We have no idea what his belief system was."

An Israel newspaper Arutz Sheva, identified the shooter and reported that police took his female companion into custody. They also said that 2 police officers wee killed, but at this time, Fox News reported that they were wounded.

The death toll stands at 50 plus and over 400 wounded.

The Israel media said that Paddock was initially said to be a recent convert to Islam but Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said he has no knowledge of Paddock's religious beliefs.

So Lombardo is implying that if Paddock did indeed convert to Islam, the mass murders would thus be explained by the religion of the shooter as it would have been his jihad.

It's still early and a lot is still unknown. It is not a fact that Paddock actually converted, but would it surprise you if he did?
