Eureka! California -- A California man was arrested as a suspect in a "cereal" crime.
Cops responded to a report of shots being fired Wednesday afternoon and discovered a man had been struck in the hand from a shotgun shell loaded with Kelloggs Rice Krispies--they "snap, crackle and pop!"
The weapon used was a flare gun.
The children's cereal shooter fled appropriately on a bicycle. Police were told the cereal shooter was Timothy Glass Jr., 29, of Eureka!
The victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated for cereal wounds.
Glass was shortly after detained at a homeless encampment. A police press release stated that "Glass resisted apprehension causing minor injury to a detective."
Police contacted the victim who later positively identified Glass as the cereal shooter, but said that he didn't want to press charges.
Glass was arrested anyway, and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, charged with resisting arrest and probation violation.
The Kelloggs Company was not available for comment.
