Afghan Taliban commander blown away

Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan -- A top mucky muck Taliban commander was blown into little bite size pieces by an air strike in the southern province of Helmand. The joint operation sending him to his virgins was with Afghan and U.S. Special Forces, Afghan officials and Taliban scumwafers said on Sunday.

Abdul Manan, the head guy for the Taliban in charge of Helmand province, along with 29 others were killed on Saturday by an air strike. Manan was meeting local commanders and their fightin' scumcrumpets in the Nawzad district, according to Helmand provincial governor Mohammad Yasin Khan.

Manan's death was confirmed by Taliban spokes slug Zabiullah Mujahid, and the U.S. military. which said Afghan forces had gone on the offensive with U.S. support, notably through precision air strikes to push the Taliban to accept peace talks.

Peace? That's about as likely to happen as the UN celebrating Hanukkah.

“They’re going to have trouble intensifying the fight when their fighters and leaders are under constant assault. Peace talks are the only solution,” Col. Dave Butler, the spokesman for U.S. Forces in Afghanistan, wrote in an email.

The death of Manan is seen as a major success by the Afghans. The Taliban [pronounced "Tahleebahn" by former President Barack Obama] had been increasing their control over Helmand province since 2014. Now, maybe they'll think about the wages of war.

“He [Manan] was the most senior Taliban commander in the south and his death will have an overall impact on security,” a senior security official in Kabul said.

The report of his death comes as the Western-backed security forces and the Taliban have both pushed to gain momentum as efforts have stepped up to find a peaceful settlement to end the 17-year war in Afghanistan.

Although dialog has begun between U.S. special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad and the Taliban, there has been no slow down in the fighting as both sides try to build a favorable position in advance of any peace talks.

3 U.S. Army soldiers wounded by Aghan 'insider'

Helmand Province, Afghanistan -- Three American soldiers were shot and wounded Sunday when an Afghan soldier fired on them inside Camp Antonik, a base in southern Afghanistan.

The attack took place at around 1:30 p.m. local time and the Islamist who did the shooting is currently on his way to meet his 72 pretty-eyed goats.

"Coalition security forces on the base killed the soldier to end the attack," said Capt. Bill Salvin, spokesman for U.S. Forces in Afghanistan. "The U.S. soldiers are receiving medical treatment at this time and we will release more information when available," he told the media.

The conditions of the soldiers was not made public as yet, except for the dead jihadist shooter.

There are about 8,400 U.S. troops in Afghanistan and the Pentagon is currently deciding whether to send more troops there.

Gen. John Nicholson, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, told Congress in January that he needed more U.S. and allied soldiers to help train the Afghan army--perhaps the dead Afghan soldier didn't know he wasn't supposed to shoot at U.S. soldiers, and training them not to do that may help in the war effort.

A detachment of U.S. Marines is scheduled to replace the Army unit in Helmand Province in the coming weeks.

Since last October, 12 Americans have been killed a five are currently being held hostage in Afghanistan.

When former so-called President Obama was screwing things up, he used what is known as "troop caps" which strictly controlled the number of U.S. soldiers were on the ground in Afghanistan, as well as Iraq and Syria. The purpose of "troop caps" was to show the enemy that we "don't want any trouble, so can we all agree to disagree?"

In fact, when Apache helicopter gunships were deployed there during Obama's reign, the "troop caps" only allowed for the deployment of the pilots, but the mechanics had to remain behind.

It turned out that high cost contractors were paid millions to fix the gunships.

Freaking brilliant.
