If the British establishment needed another glaring exhibit in the case against their open-borders folly, here it comes: a Syrian import named Jihad Al-Shamie, fresh off bail for an alleged rape, plows his car into a synagogue crowd and starts slashing away on Yom Kippur. Two dead, three fighting for their lives, and the perp ventilated by cops before he could rack up a higher body count. Welcome to Keir Starmer's "broken Britain," where the only thing more predictable than the violence is the limp-wristed official response.
Al-Shamie, 35 and Syrian-born, had washed up in the UK as a teenager and apparently decided to repay the hospitality by building quite the rap sheet. He was slated for a Manchester courtroom date over a rape from earlier this year, per the Telegraph. Yet there he was, out on bail and anonymous to the terror watchdogs, until he wasn't.
"He was on nobody's radar for terrorism, but he definitely had a criminal record, though nothing to suggest he was going to do anything like this," a police source told The Guardian. Right, because nothing screams "low risk" like a guy with a history of sexual assault and a 2012 email death threat to a Tory MP who dared back Israel's self-defense.
One missive from Al-Shamie to Conservative John Howell? "It is people like you who deserve to die," the Telegraph reported. Howell needed round-the-clock coppers after that gem. But hey, no red flags here, folks, just another day in the multicultural paradise.
It gets worse: Daddy Al-Shamie was out there cheering Hamas after their October 7 bloodbath that slaughtered 1,200 Israelis, according to the New York Post. Apples don't fall far from jihadist trees, do they?
No surprise, then, that as the blood dried outside Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation in Manchester, the usual suspects hit the streets. Islamists and anti-Israel moonbats poured out, waving Palestinian flags, popping fireworks, and basically turning a house of worship's nightmare into their block party. All this just weeks after Starmer's Labour crew slapped Israel with a "genocide" label over Gaza, because nothing stokes Jew-hatred like prime ministerial virtue-signaling.
Reform UK's Nigel Farage didn't mince words, torching the whole rotten spectacle and the government's spineless stare-down. "The whole Jewish community in Britain [is] now deeply fearful. Within just a few hours of this horrific incident, we saw … pro-Palestinian flags on the streets, people out, previously unplanned, demonstrating. But here's the truth of it, they weren’t demonstrating, they were actually celebrating," Farage said on X. "I can’t even imagine we’ve ever seen such vile scenes on our streets, certainly not in my lifetime."
He saved his sharpest barbs for Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, the anti-Israel firebrand whose idea of crisis management is a sigh and a sad emoji. "In response to this, the Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, says she’s disappointed. Disappointed. That’s the most the Home Secretary can say," Farage continued. "Well, I hope all of you watching this video are outraged, outraged, and frankly frightened. This is broken Britain. This is evidence of societal breakdown. It is deeply worrying and very frightening."
Farage didn't stop there, flagging Starmer's fresh nod to a Palestinian state as just more fuel on the fire—and sounding the alarm on the "hate march" brewing in London this Saturday. "There is a big, big march planned in London this Saturday. And I think the only way we can describe it is a hate march," Farage said. "I must admit, saying this now to you today, I feel more worried about the state of broken Britain than I ever have before."
Spot on, Nigel. When a rape-suspect jihadi can waltz free to stab Jews on their holiest day, and the streets erupt in cheers while ministers mumble "disappointment," you've got a nation sleepwalking into the abyss.
