Former Democrat candidate arrested in child sex sting: "Operation Lights Out"

He still doesn't know how to tie a tie

Carl Sprayberry, the ex-Democratic candidate for Georgia’s House of Reps, is now in hot water and making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Sprayberry, a 32-year-old from Columbus, Georgia, got busted in a hardcore sting called "Operation Lights Out" (April 24–28, 2025). This was a multi-agency takedown—GBI, Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office, and Georgia’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force—going after creeps chatting up undercover agents posing as kids online, setting up meetups for sex, or trying to exploit minors.

Sprayberry was one of 19 scumbags pinched, slapped with human trafficking charges. No real kids were hurt, thank God, since it was all cops playing decoy. The arrest? Rock-solid, backed by the GBI, local news like WTVM and Ledger-Enquirer, and the Sheriff’s Office.

Now, the juicy part: some folks are screaming that Sprayberry was out here on X, allegedly posting unhinged rants calling for then-former President Trump to get assassinated.

Word is, back in February 2025, he tweeted, “Donald Trump has committed an act of High Treason. Should Congress refuse to take action, he will be killed by the people, as per the Second Amendment’s existence,” and another brilliant gem: “bomb Mar-a-Lago.”

These quotes are floating around in places like The Gateway Pundit and Breitbart, with screenshots to boot. Problem is, Sprayberry’s X and Facebook accounts are gone—poof, suspended. No way to check the originals. Were these posts real? Were they straight-up assassination calls or just some loudmouth venting political rage? We don’t know.

If he was really out here dropping threats like that, you’d think the Secret Service would’ve been knocking on his door way before the trafficking bust, but there’s zero evidence of that.

Let’s break it down. The human trafficking arrest? Airtight. Multiple legit sources confirm it. The Trump assassination chatter? Shaky at best. It’s all secondhand, coming from partisan outlets that love to crank up the outrage dial.

Those screenshots could be real, or they could be doctored—without the original posts, it’s a coin toss. And the timing? Smells like someone’s trying to spice up the trafficking story with a side of “Democrat wants Trump dead” to get clicks and rage-shares on X.

If you enjoy my blog, feel free to toss a virtual coffee my way on Buy Me a Coffee – it’s like a high-five with caffeine! No pressure, it's your call.

Bottom line: Sprayberry’s arrest for trying to mess with kids (or so he thought) is 100% legitimate. The claim he was calling for Trump’s head? Plausible, but it’s stuck in limbo until we get hard proof like archived posts.

Don’t drink the Kool-Aid from any source—left, right, or center—without checking the receipts. If I hear anything more on this, I'll be posting it.
