ICE arrests Georgetown U. researcher: faces deportation over Hamas propaganda promoting

Federal immigration authorities have detained Badar Khan Suri, a postdoctoral associate at Georgetown University. He allegedly disseminated Hamas propaganda and promoting anti-Semitism on social media.

Suri, an Indian national on a student visa with only one Arab wife, was arrested at his residence in Rosslyn, Virginia, by agents from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The DHS alleges that this wannabe terrorist has close connections to a known or suspected terrorist who is a senior adviser to Hamas.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio determined that Suri’s activities rendered him deportable under the Immigration and Nationality Act. That is, he is in the USA as an invited guest and is the kind of visitor who stinks up the place with his vitriolic hatred.

Georgetown University stated that Suri obtained his visa to continue his doctoral research on peace-building [LOL] in Iraq and Afghanistan and that they are not aware of him engaging in any illegal activity because they tend to look the other way.

The university emphasized its commitment to free and open inquiry, even if the underlying ideas may be controversial or objectionable. [Trans.: calling for violence is a First Amendment right.]

This incident aligns with the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to deport individuals involved in pro-Hamas protests under the guise of pro-Palestinian protests.

Recently, Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University graduate student and green card holder, was arrested for his participation in anti-Israel protests and his association with an organization that cheered the October 7, 2023 invasion of Israel and the massacre and torture of 1,200 Israelis and the kidnapping of 251 more.

The administration alleges that such activities support Hamas, which is designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. because they perpetrate terrorism [see above paragraph].

Suri’s lawyer contends that his client is being punished due to his wife’s Palestinian-Jew-hating heritage and their support for Palestinian rights over historically Jewish land of Israel.
