Hamas needs to be destroyed. They have no humanity and live via the guidance of a book written in the age of Classical Antiquity. Since taking more than 250 Israeli hostages on October 7, 2023, it comes as no surprise that many, if not most of them have been murdered by Hamas while in captivity.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have found the bodies of hostages Youssef and Hamza Ziyadne during operations in the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz's announcement on Wednesday evening.
In a statement, Katz said, "I express my deep condolences to the Ziyadne family upon the discovery of the bodies of Youssef and Hamza, who were kidnapped by Hamas murderers on Oct. 7 and were rescued in a heroic operation by our heroic soldiers. We continue to do everything to fulfill our supreme moral obligation—the return of all the hostages, living and dead, to Israeli soil."
The IDF and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) confirmed that Youssef's remains were discovered in a tunnel in the Rafah part of southern Gaza. While they didn't immediately confirm Hamza's death, they noted that findings in the tunnel "raised 'serious concerns' for his life."
Ali Ziyadne, Youssef's brother, shared his grief with Ynet news, stating, "Our hearts ache. We wanted them to return to our family alive, but unfortunately they returned dead. Aisha and her brother Bilal were waiting to embrace them. This is a difficult and shocking disaster."
Youssef, aged 53, and his son Hamza, 22, along with Bilal, 18, and Aisha, 17, were kidnapped from Kibbutz Holit by Hamas on October 7, 2023. Bilal and Aisha were later released during a ceasefire in November 2023 after spending 55 days in captivity.
On the same day of the attack, 25 residents from Rahat, the largest Muslim Bedouin city in Israel's Negev desert, went to work at Kibbutz Holit and Kibbutz Sufa but did not return. They were among the 1,200 people killed, with thousands injured, and over 250 taken hostage into Gaza, including six Bedouins.
Currently, according to Israeli estimates, 98 hostages remain in Hamas captivity in Gaza, with 94 of them kidnapped during the October 7 attacks. Out of the 251 hostages taken that day, 157 have been either returned or rescued. Hamas is believed to hold 36 bodies, 34 from October 7, and 2 from 2014, IDF soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul.
