Police have arrested the alleged New York City Times Square shooter, Farrakhan Muhammed in Florida. Muhammad was suspected of opening fire and shooting three innocent bystanders, including a 4-year-old girl, on Sunday evening.
Sources confirmed [H/T Fox News] that the 31-year-old Muhammad was arrested Wednesday morning in Florida.
Charges against him have not been released and it was not yet clear when he would be extradited to New York to face a judge.
The shootings took place just before 7 p.m. near 1515 Broadway near 44th Street and 7th Avenue. This is just across from where the big ball goes down on New Years' Eve.
Police released Muhammad's identity publicly on Twitter on Tuesday night.
New York City Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said Saturday that two to four men began arguing in the area when one pulled out a gun and began shooting.
After he removed his head from his butt, he ran like a gazelle and we now learned he made it to Florida.
All three shooting victims are expected to make a full recovery.
