Report: Putin plans to step down in January due to health issues

Russian President Vladimir Putin is reportedly planning to step down next year as rumors emerge that he may have Parkinson's disease.

Moscow political scientist Valery Solovei told The Sun that Putin's 37-year-old girlfriend, Alina Kabaeva, and his two daughters are urging him to leave office and spend a little family time with them rather than putting in the time to poison his political enemies and helping screw up US elections.

“There is a family, it has a great influence on him. He intends to make public his handover plans in January,” Solovei told the news outlet.

Solovei also suggested Putin may be suffering from Parkinson’s as the president has been seen recently exhibiting symptoms of the disease and cracking fewer jokes.

Putin recently appeared to be in great pain while appearing to constantly shift his legs, according to footage reviewed by an observer, The Sun reported, but there is also the possibility that he had a catch in his underwear causing his "boys" to get pinched.

Reviewed footage also appeared to show his fingers twitching as he held a cup that possibly contained vodka or medicine.

Speculation of Putin’s possible departure comes as Russian lawmakers are considering legislation proposed by the president that would grant ex-presidents lifetime immunity from criminal prosecution, an idea that Joe Biden should also consider.
