Norman, OK -- Democrat Mayor Breaa Clark may be recalled as a group that launched an effort to get rid of her claims to have enough signatures on a petition to do so after she slashed the police department's funding and has mandated the use of masks in public.
Clark had no comment Friday regarding the recall effort in a vote January, according to the Oklahoman.
The group known as Unite Norman gathered signatures for weeks and ended with 20,560 while needing at least 18,124.
"What we just did was historic," Unite Norman co-founder Russell Smith told supporters outside City Hall.
"It's about the issues here in this town,” he said. “It's about taking our town back. It's about not having radicals in power. It's about centering the shift."
It's about normalcy.
The signatures were submitted to Norman City Clerk Brenda Hall for verification.
The paper reported that Clark was withholding comment until the signatures were verified.
"In the meantime, I will continue to focus on doing my job instead of worrying about losing my job," Clark said, according to the paper.
The petition also included four members of the Norman City Council, including one who has since resigned.
Of the other three, the group said it had enough signatures to recall one City Council member, Alison Petrone, but not the other two, Kate Bierman and Stephen Holman.
Hopefully, the sentiments of the town reflect those of the nation as Biden and Harris plan to attempt making the wearing of face masks mandatory, in spite of it being unconstitutional, as well as making severe cuts to law enforcement across the nation. If this is the case, these two leftists will not get elected.
