CNN's Erin Burnett thinks Iranians just kidding around with "Death to America" chant

Comedy News Networks's Erin Burnett loves the people of Iran and said that they "couldn't have been more friendly to me personally as an American." Burnett [no relation to an actual comedian, Carol Burnett] explained to all of us naive Americans that when they chant 'Death to America' and sometimes adding 'Death to Israel,' that they don't seem to really mean it.

She spouted her brilliant observation about the world's number one sponsor of global terrorism during an interview with naive Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Turner of Ohio. They were discussing President Trump's assertion that the number 2 Iranian, Qassem Soleimani, killed last week in a beautiful droning, had been planning attacks on U.S. embassies.

The CNN comedienne asked Turner a question which he mentioned the Iranian chanting of "Death to America," when she jumped to the defense of Iran, as part of her commitment to the Democratic Party and her pledge to negate everything that Trump has done as a "bad thing."

"Even on your network, we've seen the video of the . . . flames and the smoke that was boiling out of the embassy in Baghdad as a result of the attack that occurred there," Turner said. "So I don't think reporting or even speculating on what Iran has been threatening ... Iran itself continues to have its entire parliament to chant 'Death to America.' It's not as if it's a surprise that Iran has been coordinating and targeting America interests throughout the Middle East."

It was at this point that Burnett went into her comedy routing: "I will say I was in Tehran when they were chanting 'Death to America' once. I was at a rally. The people couldn't have been more friendly to me personally as an American [journalist with a camera crew]. It sort of felt ... like a 'thing' and a trope as opposed to anything that actually was seriously meant and considered. I understand your point," she told Turner, "but having been there, my experience was quite different."

Turner basically destroyed her comedy routine: "Erin, your entire life, Iran has chanted 'Death to America.' And they have taken actions against Americans, American interests, in ways ... that are lethal, killing Americans, giving weaponry to people who have intentions ... to kill Americans. So it's not just a slogan; this obviously is something Iran has systematically continued to do. It's part of their seeking weapons of mass destruction and their claim to want to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. These are real threats from the leadership of Iran even though--and I'm glad you had a safe and warm response--the people on the street may be different than those who are controlling the military."

Burnett could only respond with "And that is true."

CNN continues to support Iran and Burnett continues to be clueless.
