Nike had come out with a "Betsy Ross" flag shoe which was ready to go for the July 4th holiday, except their activist spokesman, Colin Kaepernick, a former mediocre football thrower in the NFL, didn't like the idea that the American flag was on display at the heel of the shoe. It offended him because it was flown several hundred years ago when America had slaves.
Originally, Kaepernick claimed that he was protesting against police brutality when he refused to stand for the national anthem and "took a knee." But he was lying then as we can see--it's all about the American flag, not what he first claimed. It's similar to the way leftists used to pretend that they wanted abortions to be safe, rare and legal, but now we know they want abortion to be carte blanche and as often as possible.
But Americans are apparently getting fed up with the Kaepernick nonsense and calls to boycott Nike are gaining traction online.
On Tuesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) encouraged folks in a Twitter post to just #WalkAwayFromNike.
Cruz tweeted:
Following the lead of Sen. Cruz, others online joined in, detailing their displeasure with Nike and vowing to steer clear of their products.
“Nike pulling your shoes with the Betsy Ross flag marginalizes the contribution of iconic America women. I stand for the values our flag represent. #walkawayfromnike,” one woman posted.
“Nike has become ridiculous. There are plenty of clothing companies that don’t get mixed up with identity politics,” another user said. “Dump Nike stock and clothes. #walkawayfromnike.”
But there was a wonderful outcome in this mess.
I love America. I stand for the anthem, respect the flag & honor the men & women who fought to defend our Nation. I respect Free Speech & I’m exerting mine: until [Nike] ends its contempt for those values, I WILL NO LONGER PURCHASE NIKE PRODUCTS.
#WalkAwayFromNike [retweet] if you agree. On the previous day Cruz had posted:
It’s a good thing [Nike] only wants to sell sneakers to people who hate the American flag.As of Tuesday evening, the tweet has received nearly 10,000 retweets and some 19,000 likes.

In response to the unpatriotic Nike move, Governor Doug Ducey (R-AZ) announced Tuesday morning that his state would be withdrawing financial incentives promised to Nike. And why not--states don't have an obligation to provide financial incentives to major corporations.
Gov. Ducey tweeted:
FreedomWorks, a grassroots organization, called on Nike CEO Mark Parker to unify Americans, rather than dividing us.
Nike has made its decision, and now we’re making ours. I’ve ordered the Arizona Commerce Authority to withdraw all financial incentive dollars under their discretion that the State was providing for the company to locate here. Arizona’s economy is doing just fine without Nike. We don’t need to suck up to companies that consciously denigrate our nation’s history. Can I get an "Amen."

I know that I will #WalkAwayFromNike and go for New Balance, Asics and other brands which, in many cases, are better than Nike. I will not support an American company that does not support the USA.
Walk away from Nike--just do it--walk away.
