The Jim Acosta Story, starring Jim Acosta as Jim Acosta

The latest in the story in the Jim Acosta saga is that instead of the story becoming "The Revenge of the Trump," it was likely be "Trump Forgives But Doesn't Forget."

In an exclusive interview Sunday with Fox News' Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday," President Trump said that if Acosta "misbehaves," he would kick him out of press conferences. Now, not so much.

The White House will not seek to revoke Acosta's hard pass, according to two sources speaking to Fox News on Monday. Previously, it was thought the White House was planning to again ban the obnoxious opinion piece writer, but perhaps the plan is to freeze Jimmy out while others get to ask questions rather than spout contrary opinions "Acosta style."

But who are we kidding? Everyone with a pulse knows the Acosta story is not over. There will come a time when the vexatious hack will do something obnoxious, something rankling that will put him in the center of the story as is his wont.

Would it surprise anyone to discover that Acosta has a wall of photos of himself striking different serious poses and a dozen selfies in his wallet?
