Now with flushing toilets |
The passenger/witness told CBS4's Dillon Thomas [not to be confused with Dylan Thomas who is dead and from whom Robert Zimmerman got his pseudonym] that she was sitting in the same row as the alleged pee-er, across the aisle. She said he unbuckled his seat belt, lowered his zipper, removed the body part often given a name by men, and urinated on the seat directly in front of him. [By the way, men give it a name because they don't want a stranger making most of their decisions.]
The woman said the man had been previously moved to the row she was in after he allegedly [there goes that word again] verbally and physically assaulted other women near his previous seat.
When later asked why the man wasn't immediately removed from the aircraft, Frontier Airlines CEO Barry L. Biffle said that, "Like Starbucks, all of our customers will be treated like guests, whether they're peeing in our bathrooms, or on the seat in front of them."
He added that all airline staff will be given a full day's training in how to discuss non-lavatorial urinary elimination with passengers, whether flying first class, business class, economy or stowaway.
The woman said the man allegedly touched a sleeping female passenger and later asked another woman about her sexual and marital life.
In order to make the woman [who had been asked the inappropriate, personal questions regarding her marital sexual behavior] feel more comfortable, the man was moved by courteous attendants next to the woman witness. She said that one flight attendant, who didn't want to get involved, warned her of the guy's previous behavior and told her to keep an eye on him and monitor his status.
It was precisely at that moment she used her cell phone to photograph the guy allegedly peeing on the seat in question.
In a statement to CBS4's Dillon Thomas, Frontier Airlines spokesperson Dick Oliver said, "The safety and security of our passengers is our priority at Frontier [except when it isn't]. We have been made aware of this situation and are working with the appropriate authorities."
The woman witness said the suspect was arrested at the gate in Charleston about 30 minutes later. She along with two other women filed statements with law enforcement.
The suspect may be charged with illegal discharge of bladder contents aboard an aircraft.
