Democrat Esty called to resign over violent abuse allegations against key staffer

The Democrats are putting pressure on Rep. Elizabeth Esty, trying to get her to resign because of the way she mishandled harassment and abuse claims against a key staffer.

Esty has been under the gun since Thursday after reports in The Connecticut Post and Washington Post were levied which stated that the three-term House member allowed a chief of staff to remain on the job despite her being aware of allegations that he physically harmed and threatened to "kill" a female staff member.

Democrats hate it when their hypocrisy shows.

According to the allegations, then Chief of Staff Tony Baker on May 5, 2016, call-bombed (nearly 50 times) Anna Kain, a female staffer with whom he had a romantic relationship, and once punched the woman while in Esty's Washington office.

Ms. Kain provided a voicemail tape to The Washington Post in which Baker was reported to have said: "You better f**king reply to me or I will f**king kill you." [Fill in the blanks.]

Esty learned of the incident within a week but rather than suspending or firing Baker, she instead met with lawyers to cover her butt. She acknowledged that she didn't adequately protect Kain [by 'adequately' she meant 'did not protect Kain at all'] and has vowed to "do better."

She said she was sorry, sort of, but added that she would not resign because she's a hypocritical feminist nightmare, as are many liberal women who pretend to care for other women while failing to advocate for women with differing political views and abused women in Middle Eastern cultures.

On Saturday, Connecticut Senate President Martin Looney along with at least six other state Democrats, called for Esty to resign. Naturally, Republicans called for the same.

To save face for his party, Looney claimed "Congresswoman Esty has long been a conscientious leader in the fight against harassment and abuse in the workplace." [Except when she wasn't.] "However . . . if the facts of this matter involving former staff of the congresswoman's office are as they are alleged to be in recent news articles, then Congresswoman Esty should do the right thing and resign."

Asking a Democrat to actually do the right thing is like the frog telling the scorpion not to sting him while riding on his back. It is the nature of Democrats to do things at the expense of others that make them feel good abut themselves.

That's how Looney got his name.

Mae Flexer, a Democratic state senator, jumped on the Esty resignation bandwagon at the very beginning.

"I was devastated to learn about the situation," Flexer told the tabloid. "The congresswoman failed her staff on every level when she decided to protect an alleged abuser instead of them. It's completely unacceptable."

Esty fired Baker in 2016 and gave him a neat $5,000 severance along with a positive job recommendation--the absolute worst thing of all that she did or didn't do.

Esty supposedly repaid the severance money and demanded counseling for Baker.

Too little, too late.

Esty must go.
