But in Sharia, only men can testify--women have no power, even in cases in which they were the victim. Four male witnesses are required (Reliance of the Traveller, o24.9). And the four male witnesses must have seen the act itself, which means they either did nothing to stop it, or they were the scumwads involved in it. If a woman accuses a man of sexual misconduct, she may end up incriminating herself--some are even stoned to death for reporting their own rape without four male witnesses.
Linda Sarsour, who heads the organization, stands with Sharia, and the women suffer the consequences.
One organization insider said that "It's always going to be the woman's fault over there. And [Linda] Sarsour was there to protect the men. She's not for other women. They only women she's for is for herself."
Which is bad grammar as it confuses the issue of number. But that's for a different article.
Allegations were allegedly brought to Sarsour when sue was the executive director of the Arab American Association. She responded by attacking the woman who brought the allegations, often body-shaming her, the insider sources said.
The most serious allegation brought by Ms. Fathelbab was dismissed by Sarsour, because the accused man was a "good Muslim" who was "always at the Mosque."
What does that have to do with his behavior?
Speaking about Sarsour, Fethelbab said, "She oversaw an environment unsafe and abusive to women. Women who put [Sarsour] on a pedestal for women's rights and empowerment deserve to know how she really treats us."
Fathelbab, 37, is a native New Yorker and raised in a Muslim household. She began working for the Arab American Association of New York as a contractor. At that time Sarsour was the executive director of the organization.
Fathelbab worked for her for about a year according to employment documents. She claims the organization was an unsafe workplace where she was allegedly sexually assaulted, intimidated and body-shamed. Also, Sarsour was allegedly involved in this herself.
The problem began early 2009 when a man named Majed Seif allegedly began stalking her. He lived in the same building where the Arab American Association offices are located.
"He would sneak up on me during times when no one was around, he would touch me, you could hear me scream at the top of my lungs," she told The Daily Caller. "He would pin me against the wall and rub his crotch on me."
Asmi said that one of Majed's favorite things to do was sneak up on her with a full erection.
She said she went to Sarsour to report the sexual assault but alleges that Sarsour dismissed her outright. "She called me a liar because 'Something like this didn't happen to women who looked like me,'" Asmi said. "How dare I interrupt her TV news interview in the other room with my 'lies.'"
She said Sarsour regularly body-shamed her and enabled Seif's sexual assaults. She also said that Sarsour threatened her with legal action and professional damage if she went public with the claims.
So without getting any help from Sarsour, she went to the president of the board of directors, Ahmed Jaber.
"Jaber told me my stalker was a 'God-fearing man' who was 'always at the Mosque,' so he wouldn't do something like that," she claimed. "He wanted to make it loud and clear this guy was a good Muslim and I was a bad Muslim for complaining."
Maybe it's time for Fathelbab to not be a Muslim at all.
As a result of Fathelbab's complaining, Sarsour allegedly raged against her for continuing to report the sexual misconduct in the building. She said that her complaining resulted in her getting written up for disciplinary action and she was even forced to speak with a detective from the community liaison division as to what can happen to someone making false claims to the authorities.
After her contract expired, Sarsour allegedly threatened to keep her from working in the city. "She told me I'd never work in New York City ever again for as long as she lived. She's kept her word. She had me fired from other jobs when she found out where I worked. She has kept me from obtaining any sort of steady employment for almost a decade."
Two people who knew Fathebab while she was at the Arab American Association told TheDC on condition of anonymity collaborate her story. They said she would return "emotionally distressed and in a panic" from work, and often described it as an "unsafe" work environment.
Another anonymous source, a New York political operative, claims that Sarsour was "militant against other women" at the organization. This same person who has worked with the organization for over 12 years, says they remember Asmi and saw her getting harassed in the building. The source even identified Fathebab's alleged assaulter without prompting, "Majed Seif, the man who lived in the building."
"They made it about her weight, saying she was not attractive enough to be harassed and then swept it under the rug," the source said. "It was Linda Sarsour, Ahmad Jaber and Habib Joudeh who took care of it." Joudeh is the vice president of the organization.
It's time for other people to come forward. Sarsour is a disgusting person and needs to be held accountable.
