It looks as though Obama has no friends who will stand with him in this "truth or dare" Syrian venture. Britain has voted against it in Parliament (something that our president might actually learn from), France is unclear what they're going to do, Germany says "nein," and Obama is hoping the United Nations will agree to his plan to "fire a shot across Assad's bow." That would have the same effect as if Obama flicked Bashar Assad on the chin with his forefinger, if indeed, Assad had an actual chin with which to flick.
Isn't it just so special that we have an alleged American president (okay, if he says he was born here, I have no proof to say otherwise) who would rather have an outside body, a body composed primarily of Islamic caliphates (calling them nations is like calling Obama a capitalist or Biden a rocket scientist), make decisions for the United States of America? Where is the leadership here? Are we now going to allow our country's decisions to be made by people who want to plant an Islamic flag on the White House and rename it something like "Allah's House of Bearded Bombers"?
So the outcome over the next hours or days is going to tell a big story to the American people. Let's hope that they're wise enough to understand what's happening to American sovereignty.
Johnny Swift-boat Kerry is trying to make the public case that Assad has used chemical weapons and killed at least 1429 people, over 400 of them children. Of course, chemical weapons is against the Geneva Convention and is a terrible thing, but so is killing kids with bombs and rockets along with their parents. But notice how Obama doesn't come out himself to make the case for an attack on Syria, he has Kerry and his brain-trust Biden do the talking. Maybe Obama is just too busy playing Spades. Kerry stated: "We assess with high confidence that the Syrian government carried out the chemical weapons attack against opposition elements in the Damascus suburbs on August 21st," and he goes on to say that we don't believe the opposition is capable of carrying out such a sophisticated chemical attack. Perhaps he didn't take al Qaeda 101 in school. "We assess the Syrian opposition does not have the capability to fabricate all the videos, physical symptoms verified by medical personnel and NGOs, and other information associated with this chemical attack," the report said.
When it comes to videos and faking things, if I was in Obama's administration, I wouldn't go there. By the way, whatever happened about Benghazi and those terrorists they interviewed on TV? Maybe they'll make an appearance on Letterman or Leno--maybe even Barack can join them.

My latest novel, Jihad
Joe, is about Islamic
terrorism and suspense. In it I challenge the precepts of the religion
through my protagonist, Zed Nill, a journalist, captured by terrorists and who
is destined to be killed if the American President refuses to release three
Gitmo prisoners. Of course, American policy demands we never give in to
terrorists, and for Zed, the clock is ticking.
