We all know that the letters GOP stands for "Grand Old Party," but the way things are going lately, one may begin to believe that it stands for "Going Off Point." We have enough scandals in this administration to cover all the ones in the best little whore house in Texas, but Republicans are going after every carrot the Democrats hold out in front of their noses.
Susan Rice just got promoted to National Security Advisor, and Republicans are ready to rumble over the appointment. Not that we can do anything about it since it doesn't go before congress and isn't therefore, up for discussion or questioning. So we need to stop complaining about that and continue focusing on Benghazi and Rice's role in passing along the fake message, and who gave the orders to do that. We need to dig deeper into what Obama was doing during the missing 8 hours after he got the call on Benghazi.
We need to stop worrying what Democratic lapdogs, like Jim McDermott has to say at the IRS hearings and stay focused on the real message: conservative organizations were singled out and no liberal organizations were dealt with in the same manner. In fact, during GW's presidency, the IRS was harsher on some conservative organizations than they were with liberals. We can't let them allow us to lose focus when idiots like McDermott speak. I believe he was a physician--by getting into politics, I imagine he's save more lives than if he was still practising medicine, and I don't believe he was even an abortion doctor. (I don't know why they call abortion doctors 'doctors' since they don't save lives, they take them--maybe they should be called 'baby terminators'.) And once we stay on point with the IRS, we need to insist that Lois Lerner go back on the stand and tell us what she knows or go down for the count with whoever else is involved with the targeting and revealing confidential information to the public.
The Grand Old Party needs to hold Holder's feet to the fire on Benghazi, but they also need to do the same with the scandal regarding the Associated Press as well as James Rosen. Delving into the case with Fast and Furious would also be nice, but that seems to have gone by the wayside from the other carrots that are being dangled.
Holder met with some of the press who agreed to meet with him in spite of the demand that it be off the record, but Fox News, CNN and others, refused because of Holder's demand. From what we can gather about that meeting, Holder tried to kiss and make up with the press, and I suppose a few liberal reporters had a change of heart with Eric and will let bygones etc etc.
The latest distraction away from the real scandals is the immigration reform and the "Gang of Eight That Couldn't Shoot Straight." When you have real scandals about real politicians who deserve to be indicted over them, you don't call them on jaywalking.
Holder refuses to resign and that's okay by me--let's do the resigning for him with facts, his lies and videotape. Then let's continue with whoever else deserves it. You get the picture. Lerner, Ingram, Miller, Shulman, and maybe higher up the food chain. Maybe we need to start at the bottom though, to get to the top. But the pig rots from the head down.

My latest novel, Jihad
Joe, is about Islamic
terrorism and suspense. In it I challenge the precepts of the religion
through my protagonist, Zed Nill, a journalist, captured by terrorists and who
is destined to be killed if the American President refuses to release three
Gitmo prisoners. Of course, American policy demands we never give in to
terrorists, and for Zed, the clock is ticking.
