At war with Star Wars and politics

Does everything have to be about politics? It seems that way as the upcoming Star Wars movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is clouded in the political rantings by its principal writers, Chris Weitz and Gary Whitta.

Both of them took to Twitter and expressed their unchained abhorrence for Donald Trump, our "like it or not" President-elect.

But Trump fans took notice and many of them plan to boycott the movie--or so they say. I find that people who say that they're going to boycott something tend to let others actually do the boycotting while they enjoy whatever it is they're boycotting.

"Please not that the Empire is a white supremacist (human) organization," Weitz wrote and since deleted the stupid tweet. Whitta (aka Witless) added an addendum: "Opposed by a multi-cultural group led by brave women."

The leftists were admonished both by Trump supporters and Star Wars fans who just wanted to see a Star Wars flick without the political garbage messing it up.

Now fans are concerned the film will be a narrative to promote their political opinions, a soapbox for American-loathing progressives, and they just might not go to see it.

I hope there is a boycott and that it's a success because it will teach liberals that, as they say, "words count."
