UPDATE: It has been revealed that 5 of the hostages still in the hands of Hamas have died in captivity. I predicted we would discover that the cease-fire violation would have to do with the deaths of hostages.
The Israel-Hamas cease-fire was broken by Hamas at 5:30 a.m. Israel time when the terror group launched rockets into Israel. In addition to violating the cease-fire, Hamas also violated the hostage deal, freeing only 8 of the 10 hostages agreed upon with the Jewish State. In this writer's opinion, it's quite possible that Hamas has murdered more of their captives than we know of, and this, at least in part, was a reason they broke the agreement. We know that at least two of the hostages were, in fact, murdered.
Currently, Hamas is believed to be holding 117 males [including children] and 20 females hostage.
It was revealed by hostages who have been released, that child hostages were 'marked' to identify them by burning their arms with the hot exhaust pipes of motorcycles.
Fox News reported that "Israel claims Hamas broke the cease-fire," implying that this may or may not be true, leading one to believe that Fox News continues to move to the left.
As this is being written, Israeli tanks and artillery are moving into Gaza and now the war continues.
Meanwhile during his visit to Israel, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken implied that the Biden administration's support for Israel's war efforts against the Hamassholes is waning and said something to the effect that Israel doesn't have the "credit" for eliminating Hamas if it would take months to do so. Here is what Blinken said:
"You can’t operate in southern Gaza in the way you did in the north. There are two million Palestinians there. You need to evacuate fewer people from their homes, be more accurate in the attacks, not hit UN facilities, and ensure that there are enough protected areas [for civilians]. And if not? Then not to attack where there is a civilian population. What is your system of operation?
The IDF hit Hamas with airstrikes and gunfire after sirens sounded in southern Israeli communities near the border. Residents in southern Gaza were urged to evacuate, signaling the resumption of the war and likely a broader assault.
Israel's military say Hamas leaders are hiding alongside the masses of civilians who have fled south at Israel's urging and as a result of weeks of aerial bombardment and ground battles in the north. Of course, this is a war crime but it seems the world only wants to hold Israel to the standards of the Geneva Convention while the Hamassholes get away with violating it with hardly any condemnation.
Meanwhile, the U.S. has urged Israel to do more to protect Palestinians in any new campaign, while not making the same demands of the Hamassholes who use Palestinian women and children as human shields.
