Kevin McCarthy will remove an anti-Semite from committee assignment when he's Speaker

House Minority Leader, soon-to-be House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, said on Saturday that once he's House Leader next year, he plans to remove anti-Semite and avunculate Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from the House Foreign Affairs Committee due to her myriad "anti-Semitic" verbal bile [my words].

"We watch antisemitism grow, not just on our campuses, but we watched it grow In the halls of Congress," he said at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s 2022 leadership meeting in Las Vegas.

"I promised you last year that as speaker she will no longer be on Foreign Affairs, and I’m keeping that promise," he said to cheers from the audience.

Kevin McCarthy will likely be the next Speaker once the adults (GOP) take the majority in the House in January pending a vote on January 3rd.

Omar, a woman with questionable morals [she married her brother, married another man and divorced him; then married her campaign manager who she paid a boatload of money to when she ran for office] was elected to Congress in 2018 based in large part on her ethnic and religious background. She is a Muslim woman born in Somalia and her constituents are made up in large part by Somali Muslims.

Since being elected she had made several anti-Semitic comments that perpetrated Jew hatred. For example, she said that it was "all about the Benjamins" for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. She tweeted, "We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban," which was seen as equating Israel and the U.S. to the Taliban.

Before being elected, the leftist Squad member said that Israel "hypnotized the world" and later after she was elected, submitted a resolution to the House comparing the act of boycotting Israel to boycotting the Nazis [not that she was so upset with the latter group but knew Americans are].

But McCarthy didn't go after Omar based on her political party, he has shown that he will not let anti-Semitic sentiment go unchallenged. Last year he blasted Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene when she said,  "Vaccinated employees get a vaccination logo just like the Nazi’s forced Jewish people to wear a gold star." McCarthy and many others viewed this as minimizing the Holocaust.

Democrats, who are currently in the majority, removed Greene from her committee assignments over the comments and other controversial ones she has made in the past, and this is one of the few political moves the left has made that one can agree with for a change.
