The Comedy News Network (CNN) is losing one of its biggest hosts: Brian Stelter. According to my reliable sources, Stelter is being kicked out of the network due to the shakeup that's taking place with new company leadership.
“CNN will end its Reliable Sources program on Sunday, August 21st,” a network spokesperson said in a statement. “As a result Brian Stelter will leave the company. We appreciate his contributions to the network and wish him well as he embarks on new endeavors.”
The CNN commissary will miss him.
Reliable Sources was the longest-running fake news show on CNN prior to Thursday’s announcement. Stelter has anchored the program since 2013, while he was still a virgin with hope and a lucky rabbit's foot.
Stelter, 36, confirmed his exit in a statement to NPR and said he would provide more details when the final episode of his show airs on Sunday. CNN’s top boss Chris Licht reportedly informed him of the decision on Wednesday and my reliable sources say he cried like a girl whose date left her at the sock hop.
“It was a rare privilege to lead a weekly show focused on the press at a time when it has never been more consequential,” Stelter told NPR in a heartfelt statement.
Stelter added that he was grateful for the program’s exploration of “the media, truth and the stories that shape our world,” but after exploring it, decided to go with fake news because it sells.
Fellow CNN media correspondent Oliver Darcy described Stelter’s departure as the “end of an era,” but what he really meant was that it was the end of an error.

The reasons for letting the big guy go and the show's cancellation wasn't revealed, but many on the Right will miss him for the material he has always provided.
