Milley has been accused of stealing drugs in his eye bags |
Woke Gen. Mark Milley still identifies as a man but as he sees it, that's subject to change.
Now Milley admits that it's "certainly possible" Biden's clusterfrack in Afghanistan influenced the timing of Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
When he was asked by Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing whether Biden's crap-fest of a withdrawal from Afghanistan was a factor in Putin's decision-making, he made the admission that is might have been.
“From the intelligence I’ve read, it’s not clear. I think it certainly is possible, but I also know that Putin had aims on Ukraine long before the end of the war in Afghanistan,” Milley said.
“I think we all know that,” the Senator interjected. “So he saw his opening, right?”

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN): Did the events surrounding the US withdrawal from Afghanistan shape Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine?

Putin may have been looking to invade Ukraine, but he didn't do it on former President Trump's watch, and he invaded Crimea on Obama's.
“Well, the forces were building up — they began to build up their force in September, October,” Milley said as his eye bags quivered. “So I think in order to do that, they would’ve had to have the plans and approval long before September, October.”
Milley, you may recall, had projected Russia to win the war in Ukraine in 72 hours, so don't rely on him too much to explain military planning. It seems as if he and others didn't count on Russia's failure to implement the viable logistics to fight the Ukrainians.
Sen. Angus King of Maine, an independent who caucuses with Democrats, complained that the U.S. didn't know enough about the important elements of what the war revealed as the initial projections by the Pentagon and Milley in particular, thought the war would be over in days.

“If we had known in advance how strong the Ukrainians would be and how weak the Russians would be, we might have been able to preposition more equipment and had aid to the Ukrainians flow in faster, based on the assumption they had a real chance,” King said.
What wasn't taken into account is the known calculus that the defenders have a combat strength of 3 to 1 over the invaders as history has shown.
